That said, the run to close it out last year should pay some dividends.. this team knows what it needs to do, and they know they can

Whipple should be in the conversation for the coordinator of the year award.
Well, there goes another coordinator to LSU.

Observation: Pitt's longest run this season has been.....25 yards. I am of the opinion that the run game hasn't been as bad as we all think, but this stat is pretty telling. I don't want to crap on AJ Davis during the cuse game, but there was a few times he got into the defensive backfield and had an opportunity to rip a big one off and instead it was just a 7 or 8 yarder.

im surprised Vincent davis has a YPC < 4.0

They've shown a desire to run every RB between the tackles, which is somewhere Good Davis and V'Lique have no business ever being. I know you don't want to tip your hand based on the on-field personnel, but that has to be more effective than running the child sized RBs into a mass of humanity.

As far as VMD, for a dude from Florida with more than 25 Power 5 offers, he's slow as ****. Can't get away from anyone.

On the subject of offensive personnel, I'd like to see Shocky be more involved. He's caught a few balls the past couple weeks after spending a couple games getting a token handoff just to say that he's been involved, but whether it's receiving, rushing, or returning, I feel like he's someone who should have more to offer than Carter or the Ghost of Ffrench's Past in the return game.

Speaking of which, i'm thinking ffffrench is hurt
Why
He isn't as dynamic
He isn't returning kicks
He has taken some tough hits
He was grimacing/moving tenderly after several plays in the Syracuse game

35-10. They FINALLY learn from their second half issues and put together a complete game. Jarren Williams has a bum right shoulder, N'Kosi Perry has a bum left shoulder, and their both gonna get destroyed and we'll end up facing the ego midget Tate Martell.

Explosive WR Jeff Thomas out. All-ACC LB Pinckney doubtful (he's out in reality it seems; they already announced his backup is starting). Both Miami QBs dealing with shoulder injuries. Starting RB Deejay Dallas questionable.

This is a gd setup

So you are saying a good setup for a Pitt heartbreaking loss?

Guess we'll end up seeing their fourth string QB.

Yup...Pitt opened as two point favorites and the line has already been moved by myself and other bettors to 4 to 5. This is a no-brainer. Pitt covers and the under rules the day, 24-17.

I've got this...

Pitt comes out and takes a big lead int he first half.
At half time, they pull out a Big Bucket O' Paste™ and pass it around so everyone gets a good taste.
Game ends up much closer than it had any right to be.

This game worries me more than just about any game left on the schedule. The top two QBs on Miami's roster are playing injured and their offensive line may be worse than Syracuse's. They're dealing with other injuries at other positions. This is only their second road game of the year (?!). No one really knows if Diaz is a good coach, and they look like they're one more loss away from mailing in the rest of the year. That said, they're also coming off a bad, embarrassing home loss.

Throw in the fact that it's homecoming for Pitt, national TV audience, and that Pitt has things to play for and there you have it. This is what watching parts of the Walt, Wanny, and Chryst years have done. I know things changed with this team last year in that run to win the Coastal, and I don't expect this team to come out flat.

I hope I come away from this one pleasantly surprised. Miami has talent on their roster and there's always the chance that this is the week that it comes together.

I think Pitt will be fine on defense today. Given the state of Miami's offensive line, I'm hoping to see a repeat defensively of the Syracuse game.

The offense is an unknown like usual because you can't use last year's Miami game as any sort of barometer. Last year, there was no passing game whatsoever and no Jimmy Morrissey on the offensive line. Morrissey's absence hurt way more than I think we ever expected. This year, Morrissey is back but there's no real running game to speak of. If they can build off what they did last week, that should be enough for Pitt to win.

The big thing to me is what's been echoed here...they need to find a way to generate points in the second half. This is probably the one game on the remaining schedule where that can really come back to bite them if they don't.

Why does Pitt keep giving the ball back to Miami? They'll never win that way.

Heh. 28 yard run, then an 11 yard sack. On a play with a hold, no less. Brilliant!

They need to wipe the Pitt off during half time and put these gold-chain-wearing fools away
