He was down. These refs are trash and this second half performance is **** pathetic.

Nailed itNow I feel extremely good about it. If ulf thinks a prediction is bad it’s likely right on the money. Bet the house on Pitt covering and the over.

Getting the downs wrong
What was the deal with the unnecessary roughness penalty on Hamlin? Is that illegal?
Both fumble calls in the fourth quarter
Being a bunch of geldings re: targeting calls
Etc

Huh. I have zero knowledge of other teams this year or current rankings but that's surprising

Boise, AZ St, Washington and Mizzou lost. Not sure if Boise will drop out all the way from 16 but the latter 3 all should drop out. Pitt won't go from no votes to ranked in a week but should be close enough to jump in with a win over Miami I'd say

4th in line getting votes in the AP poll and 5th in line in the coaches

Sunday afternoon stuff, folks...
1. I don't get too worked up over the AP and Coaches polls, but it's nice to see some of the voters at least acknowledge Pitt. It was fun to watch, but UCF's loss to Cincy probably devalued Pitt's win over UCF; UCF has almost completely disappeared from the national discussion. I agree with what you guys said above - a win over Miami this coming weekend will help the perception angle because voters in those polls still seem to give some credence to historical name recognition.
2. It was nice to see AJ Davis finally start to look like the four-star RB he was coming out of high school. He's kind of reminded me of Darrin Hall in his first few years - good enough to rip off a couple of 10+ yard carries but you wondered whether he had any sort of breakaway speed. The latter eventually came for Hall; hopefully the same does for Davis.
3. Kradel started at guard because Gabe Houy was hurt. I like Houy and I think he'll be fine, but Kradel seems to be that type of road-grading blocker they need to help establish an effective running game. I think he'll be a solid player for the next few years.
4. Redshirt bonfire: Peak reported that there are now four freshmen who formally burned their four-game redshirt limit. Vincent Davis, Brandon George, and AJ Woods have all played in five games this year. SirVocea Dennis had already played in five games, but did not make the trip to Syracuse. Jared Wayne has also played in four games, but he also apparently did not travel on Friday night. George and Woods burning redshirts while playing almost exclusively special teams is a little bit frustrating, but this also tells me that these guys are probably closer to seeing plays from scrimmage this year, or would have already seen time had we blown anyone out. George really strikes me as someone who is capable of stepping in next year when Kylan Johnson and Brightwell move on.
5. Great: Pitt's defense had nine sacks. Even greater: Not one player on Pitt's defense had two. Kylan Johnson led with 1.5. Twyman, Jones, Morgan, Alexandre, Campbell, and Stocker each had one. Bright, Pine, and Watts each had 0.5. That's just ridiculous depth. I've never had as much fun watching a Pitt defense as I have with this one.

He's a grad transfer and easily the most impactful one we've gotten during the grad transfer era.
