They’re closing in on a full class already. Not many seniors on this years roster.

Polanco to DL, Martin recalled, which makes no sense as it keeps a crowded outfield crowded. Would have given Craig or Kramer the call

I'll qualify all of this by saying no one knows how these kids will pan out, and I tend to be overly optimistic when it comes to this stuff. That being said...
It's been a while since Pitt football has had a recruiting stretch like it's had the last two weekends. I know they had a June blitz like this last year but with all due respect to that group, the collective P5 offer sheets that this 2020 group has accumulated really jump off the page.
4-star S Jahvonte Royal had 17 P5 offers, including Georgia, Ohio State, Florida, Florida State, UPS, Kentucky, Tennessee, BC, Syracuse, Louisville, Maryland, Missouri, Minnesota, Purdue, and Virginia.
4-star WR Aydin Henningham had 11 P5 offers - Ohio State, Auburn, Florida, Kentucky, Louisville, Minnesota, Mississippi St., Nebraska, NC State, South Carolina and Tennessee. Throw UCF in there as well.
DE Dayon Hayes is considered the top player in the Pittsburgh area. He had 14 offers, including Ohio State, UPS, A&M, VT, Michigan State, Miss. St, Nebraska, Syracuse and WVU. He's ranked the 21st best weakside DE nationally by Rivals and was Pitt's top PA and top local target. All of Narduzzi's recent wacky-ass Wendy's tweets were directed at him, because Hayes works at Wendy's.
DE Tim Brown had 13 P5 offers, including Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Ole Miss, UPS, Missouri, Nebraska, Syracuse and WVU.
WR Jordan Addison had 7 P5 offers - Notre Dame, VT, WVU, Virginia, Syracuse, South Carolina and Maryland.
RB Harry Parrish had 10 offers - Florida State, Michigan, Miami, UPS, Iowa, WVU, Tennessee, Indiana, Syracuse, and Wake Forest.
LB Bengally Kamara had 12 - Michigan, Michigan St, Kentucky, UPS, Nebraska, Purdue, Iowa State, Indiana, Minnesota, Maryland, Syracuse. Up until about a month ago, he was considered a heavy UPS lean. Guess not.
LB/S Solomon DeShields had offers from Auburn, Kentucky, Michigan State, Oregon, VT, WVU, Iowa State, and Missouri.
OL Michael Statham had offers from LSU, Michigan, Michigan State, Missouri, Syracuse and WVU.
Here's what I like seeing:
1. They're targeting the right areas. They hosted 32 kids the past two weekends. Nine were from Florida, six committed and they may still get 4-star DT Clyde Pinder later this week. Four were from Georgia and three of them have committed. Five were from Maryland/DC/VA, two have committed and they're in on OL Aaryn Parks, a recent UPS decommit who is Rivals' 10th ranked OL nationally. 20 of 32 kids they hosted came from three of the most fertile recruiting areas of the country and Pitt got 11 of them with time to add more.
2. They're beating blueblood programs for these kids. So far, five commits had UPS offers. Three had offers from Ohio State, Florida, Florida State and/or Michigan. Two had offers from LSU.
3. Five players were recruited as potential DBs, and all of them are 6'0" or taller. Royal is 6'3" and will likely play safety. If Denson and Sellers stay at corner, they're in the 6'0" - 6'1" range. Kamara and Deshields will likely move to LB, but both are 6'1" - 6'2" and could play safety.
4. Give Charlie Partridge a raise. Like yesterday. That guy has been invaluable when it comes to recruiting the south.
Considering the context of the last couple of seasons, the coaching changes made at the assistant level (GTFO Watson, hiring Beatty and Whipple) and these last two weekends have me feeling much better about the direction this program is heading.

Pitt got two out of the top 50 recruits in Florida, which i’m Pretty sure is unheard of for pitt. Also, a quick glance indicates that the only other team in the Midwest/north east to have commits in the florida’s Top 50 is ohio state. WVU has a QBs commit in the top 50 of FL but that doesn’t count in my book becuase QB recruiting is a different ballgame. Last year’s FL top 50 had one guy go to Wisconsin and one to Syracuse and the rest went to southern schools or recruiting powerhouse.
Since rivals started doing state rankings in like 2004, pitt has had two commits from FL’s top 50 prior to today....AJ Davis and Conredge collins.
Basically what I’m trying to say here is that it is very hard for a team like pitt to strut down to Florida and say “go play up north for a team not named ohio state, michigan, or UPS” but somehow pitt managed to do it on multiple occasions this weekend.

Another Pat Signal.
This one is believed to be RB Israel Abanikanda. He's announcing his commitment today at 4pm. 5'11", 195 from Lincoln HS in Brooklyn, NY. Rivals has him listed as a 3-star RB. He has ten P5 offers - VT, WVU, Cal, Tennessee, BC, Duke, Purdue, Syracuse, Vandy, and Rutgers.
He was part of the group that visited on June 15 and it sounds like he was at Syracuse this past weekend.
His film is pretty impressive...just some ridiculous breakaway speed. Reminds me a lot of Maurice Ffrench.
