I’m fine with him as a stop gap. I don’t need the next Bond to be locked in for a decade.

You don't and I probably don't either. But Eon and MGM might have a different take.

I think they need to have an actor locked in for endorsement opportunities. Harder to do without an actor under contract for a few years.

Man, that score is great too. Still haven’t seen that film, been putting it for for years for some reason. I’d really like to see it on the big screen to be honest.

Never seen it as well. Been holding out for the 4k disc, but it appears to only be part of a 4k box set for some reason and I'm not paying that much for it.

Finally finished Zack Snyder's Justice League. It was significantly better than the original while still being pretty bad. Bad CGI, terrible dialogue, eye numbingly painful washed out color palette, teenage boy philosophizing, Leto Joker. It's all just so BLAH.

Ali's entrance - the compositions, the editing, the pacing, all of it - is a top 5 movie moment for me.

I recognize the importance of Lawrence of Arabia and I feel like I'm supposed to like, but my god that's a boring movie.

I strongly recommend reading Lawrence's book, the Seven Pillars of Wisdom.

I gotta say I don't see that happening.

For some reason, I watched this in 8th grade social studies. It’s not a good age to be introduced to this movie. I’ve always assumed adult me would find it equally excruciating to sit thru.

Watched the secret of nimh last night. The art had some serious Gigereresque vibes while Goldsmith's score had a nice alien sound to it. That movie is incredible.

I read the book and watched the movie in elementary school. Exceptional film that doesn't have a wide enough audience.

Hollywood is screwed in about 15 years when all these people are dead and there has to be fresh ideas.

There are plenty of fresh ideas in Hollywood. But it's easier to market a remake/sequel/reimaging of existing IP than it is to create a fanbase out of thin air. And as long as moviegoers propel the latest superhero movie and Star Wars Part 25 to billion dollar box offices, it's never going to change.

Disney has been preparing for this with their digital actors. Don't worry, we'll definitely have new Indy movies with CGI Harrison Ford.

By the way, normally I'm with you, Beveridge. But in this case, I really want them to redeem Indy after Crystal Skull. The series never should have came back after he literally rode off into the sunset in Last Crusade but nothing can be done about that now.

Prestige projects and originality go the route of premium TV/streaming anymore.

Yep. The chance of a "serious" film (without some sort of a link to another IP) turning a profit in a theatrical release is smaller than ever.

Agreed.
