Grain isn't a bad thing with movies in general. Especially ones shot on film, but the 4k of Jurassic Park is not reference quality by any means. The Blu Ray wasn't either.

Hamilton was everything it was hyped up to be. Just magnificent.

Groffsauce for the win. I love how he plays HRH George III with just vacant dead eyes in the first song, and then gets gradually more confused as to what's going on around him. "John Adams?!" lol

Look on YouTube for the 'coronation' ceremonies when a new actor takes over the role. I think Groff was King George III the third, and Rory O'Malley was King George III the 4th. In fact, you know what, just search YouTube for "groffsauce" and sit back and enjoy the dive down the rabbit hole.

We watched it together on the premier day, then I watched it again that night after Mrs Tif's bedtime, then I watched it again the next night. It wasn't until that third viewing that I really picked up on The Bullet and her significance, and when I realized it I felt like a dunce for not noticing it right away. (By the way, that actor - Arianna DeBose - is playing the Rita Moreno character from West Side Story in Steven Spielberg's remake that's supposed to come out later this year.)

Also, I didn't know this until I watched interviews for the press junket, but Groff had already left the company when they shot the film (2 performances in front of audiences, plus 2 days of shooting closeups and stedicam shots in an empty theater), but he agreed to come back for three days because they wanted to film the original Broadway cast.

Now I must see it in person, eventually.

I wonder if Hamilton would resonate with a European as much as it would Americans. How much US Revolutionary War history is taught in German schools?

My boys wanted to watch James Bond, so we started with the Craig films. Very enjoyable, and they loved them.

So then we went back to the Brosnan films. Very, very tough to watch following the grittiness of the Craig films. It’s almost a parody of Bond films at this point. GoldenEye might be the only decent film in the bunch, as most first films with a new Bond usually are the best of the batch.

I'm not a huge fan of musicals that I don't see in an actual theater, and even then they aren't my preferred thing to watch. I watched Hamilton with my wife and thought it was good,, but wasn't blown away by any means. I have no desire to ever see it again, or listen to the music. I don't think I'm really the intended audience to be fair.

I do respect the amount of work and talent involved to pull all of that off though.
