For once, Hollywood tinkers with a story to make it work for a 50+ year old female lead.

Literally a story about a pregnant college student. C'mon, man.

This is pretty easy

Premonition
Practical Magic
Miss Congeniality (2 worse than 1)
Hope Floats

And so on and so on. She has been in a TON of flops/stinkers. That said, I admittedly liked The Net, Demolition Man, and even Speed 2 was a guilty pleasure. But she was not the reason I found enjoyment in any of those movies. As a matter of fact, I derive very little enjoyment from her being on screen. I thought she was annoying and distracting in Gravity.
Miss Congeniality 1 (never saw 2) is fun. As far as "chick flicks" go, you could do way worse. Also, I hate the term "chick flick."
Pratical Magic is hilarious.
Premonition is garbage. You got me there.
I've somehow avoided seeing Hope Floats. I think I'll keep it that way.

I don't want to give away much of Bird Box to have this out; it's a really dark story and the main characters transition from naivety to brutal survivalist is a key character component. You don't get that from someone with an AARP card.

It's a role for a Jennifer Lawrence or even a Sophia Lillis if she were a few years older.

Wasn't she black in the book too?

This is my issue here...it completely changes one of the core elements from the novel. Bullock also doesn't strike me as someone that can play the "brutal survivalist" role, as it were.

I couldn't remember either way; Google doesn't seem to know. I don't know that it was ever stated. If it was I'm sure Google would've returned at least one blog with a whitewashing complaint.

Didn't she already give birth to a black offensive lineman in a different movie? Is this a prequel?

And in the book the shark just......... dies. With Quint stuck to its side, and Hooper in its belly.

Let it play out. ;)

Sandra should be blindfolded for most of it, which is why I didn't like the casting. Expect 10X the non-language vocals as she makes in Gravity.

I thought I was going to hate it based on the start of the trailer, but that looks good.

Danny Boyle will direct Bond 25. Starts shooting in December, premieres October 2019. Should be the last Craig Bond film.

10 months from start of filming to premiere seems like a quick turnaround.
