To this day, casting him was the only thing positive that Lena Dunham has done.

Dolemite is my name was awesome, easily one of the best movies I've seen this year and I had no idea it would be such a feel good kind of movie. Truly inspirational. Loved it.

Just came here to say the same.

Based on a true story of a guy who believed in himself and gambled everything on himself.

Mortal Engines: I really liked this. Really cool sci-fi world that seemed to have a lot of room for background expansion. I can see why it bombed but I don’t think it was bad by any stretch for what it was. Hugo Weaving was good as usual.

Yeah, Mortal Engines was a lot better than I had expected it to be. You know what else was better than expected? Angry Birds Movie 2. My daughter wanted to watch it, so we had family movie night, and it was actually quite funny.

Watched ET over the weekend. There are a few movies that I watch and immediately makes me feel like a kid again, this is one of them.

Tom Selleck did say yest to Indiana Jones. It was CBS who said no. ;)

This loses some impact when dialog comes in, but otherwise it's a little alarming how good this stuff looks.

Adam Savage is a friend of Peter Jackson's, so Tested did some BTS stuff on this movie. It looks really cool, and I'm bummed I didn't go see it.

Dolemite was excellent.

One thing I miss about the death of video stores is the serendipitous discoveries in a good, locally owned video store. We had a really good one in Clemson, which was partly owned by a couple of professors. Lots of wacky stuff, including most of Rudy Ray Moore's original Dolemite films. You would never find those in a Blockbuster in 1993.

We used to listen to his party records all the time, and used to yell "dodint are you for realll??" across campus to each other all the time. Ah, ignorant youth.

The closest I have ever come to using a racial slur was in a security line for an event (I think it was a concert) and the guy in charge of our line was a short little black dude who was waaay too excited about welding his authority. In my mind I referred to him as Napoleon Dolemite.

We really liked the first one, even bought it (!) on Bluray. That'll be a good thing to watch over Christmas break.

Tell me about it. Earlier this month, I realized that this year Sidney Crosby is now the same age I was when he was drafted.

My entire childhood was spent watching John Candy movies. Even the ultra dumb ones are gold to me.

Watched El Camino on Netflix. Provides a little wrap up, but I don’t know that it was necessary.

Watched The Gambler with Mark Wahlburg. It was just okay. Goodman was great in a small part.

Then watched Shooter for the I dunno how many times. Still enjoyable.
