We watched Finding ‘Ohana (Netflix) for family movie night last night; it was good. The trailer had parallels with The Goonies, so it was hilarious to my wife and I when we saw the guy who played Data in it. There were even a few very subtle Goonies references in it, which we enjoyed.

The Dig on Netflix was really good. I had just heard about the subject of the film - the archaeology dig at Sutton Hoo - from one of my favorite TV shows I’ve watched this year, The Detectorists @Gaucho. Ralph Fiennes and Carey Mulligan were great.
:thumb: I love Carey Mulligan, so I'll definitely check it out.

Cool, this looked pretty fun. We watched the spider wick chronicles and that is another great family movie. A little scarier than the pg title suggests, we all enjoyed it.

Didn't know this was out yet, can't wait, looks like a good date night flick

Lighting a fire and getting ready to watch The Little Things on HBO Max. Anyone seen it yet?

I watched it last night. It's slow and I thought some of the performances were questionable, but overall I enjoyed it. I'm a sucker for slow burn serial killer flicks though.

I’m planning on watching it soon. Denzel is always worth a watch, IMO.

That **** guy is weird. I liked Twin Peaks for the most part but I just don't get his stuff. I guess I'm just uncultured swine.

I watched it yesterday. I thought Leto was good, Denzel was pretty solid, and Malek was pretty bad in it. It was a decent movie, but felt like a worse version of Seven.

Malek is miscast in it. I haven't finished yet, but he stands out, not in a good way.

Some kind of heaven doc about the villages was pretty good, but that place is so big with so much going on, I wish they'd talk a little bit more about it rather than just follow a couple people around for a couple weeks.

Watched the 4k remaster of 2001 A Space Odyssey with the kids and they stayed with it and liked it. That movie is more of an experience than anything, cranked the audio and was taken on quite a trip for a few hours. It was awesome.

Oh wow....my wife's grandparents moved there in 1994, her grandpa died last year but her nana is still a pistol at 84. I've probably spent a total of 2 months in the Villages over the last 10+ years. I love my trips down there but that doc looks interesting.

Yeah, he took me out of the film. I thought Leto was a bit over the top too.

I've been on a little bit of a Martin Freeman kick, with watching Sherlock again with the kids. Movie-wise, I watched The Operative on HBO Max, which stars Freeman and Diane Kruger as Israeli spies. Freeman plays a British Jew, and doesn't speak any Hebrew in the film (because the real Israelis make fun of him). Interesting technique there, explaining why he doesn't speak the language (although his character understands it).

No big fireballs or gunfights, but a pretty good spy movie. Plot was trying to get Iran to buy faulty electronics for their nuclear program. Showed the good side of the Iranian people, which is rare in western and Israeli films. Also has the Cas Anvar from The Expanse, prior to him getting canceled for sending sexual texts/Tweets to minors.

I’m not really surprised, but the movie theater that they were just about finished building at our local mall is no longer listed on the mall’s website or the chain’s site, so I guess that’s not happening. It was one of those dine and drink ones with big seats. I was really looking forward to checking it out. Stupid covid.

‘Wicked’: Jon M. Chu Tapped To Direct Universal’s Film Adaptation
https://deadline.com/2021/02/wicked-jon ... 234685167/

A Wicked movie has been promised since 2003 so we'll see if this actually happens. But at least this gives me hope for In The Heights. Universal must've liked Chu's work on that.

Also, I think Wicked would make a better animated film. That would also mean they could cast Menzel and Chenoweth. They may be a bit too old for a live action adaptation now.

Possessor unrated is on prime. Anyone see this? Sounds pretty wild and like one of those movies that will be tough to watch

Wife and I continuing our re-watch of the Marvel movies in order. Incredible Hulk was up last night.

It was just as average as I remembered, and really meant nothing in the grand scheme of things. Looked good in 4k though.

I think the Norton one is better but neither are very good.

Also, the Norton one is still considered canon and is part of the MCU.
