Source of the post the first one has the bar set so high that everything that comes after doesn't even come close.
Couldn't agree more.

Jurassic World plays better on repeat viewings. that and JP3 are fun, but the first one has the bar set so high that everything that comes after doesn't even come close.
Which makes JP2 that much worse.

From what I recall, there's only one really good scene in that movie (the raptors in the tall grass).

you are correct. There are some good shots in that movie, but that scene is the only one I recall standing out. Maybe the end in the city, but I really don't remember much about it. I do remember the little girl doing some gymnastics routine on the bars and kicking a raptor or something ridiculous like that.

They filmed the two Rex trailer attack on the employee parking structure on the Universal backlot.

Related: Saw this on Reddit the other day, and it's a fantastic breakdown of Jurassic World's awful protagonist:

Hot take alert: relative to available resources, pedigree and expectations, Jurassic World is the worst movie I've ever seen.

Dear god, I forgot it ended with the raptor impaled on a thing.

For something off the beaten path, "After The Storm" is streaming on Prime for free. U.S. release was this year. Really good Japanese family drama that never feels too heavy.

So Bryan Singer was fired from the Queen movie and replaced by Dexter Fletcher, known to most of us as Sgt. John Martin from Band of Brothers.

He evidently directed something called Eddie the Eagle recently.

Eddie the Eagle is terrific. Highly recommend. I think it's streaming on netflix. Dexter also was the original director of the movie and worked on it for 4 months before clashing with the band and their vision of the movie, so I'd say it's in pretty good hands.

Let me just say Eddie the Eagle is so good that it completely blows away anything Singer directed since Suspects and maybe Apt Pupil.

But now even more details about Tarantino’s Star Trek have arrived, including the revelation that the film will be R-Rated, per Tarantino’s stipulations. In addition to this news, The Revenant writer Mark L. Smith has emerged as the frontrunner to pen the script.

serious Lost World vibes from that trailer. I'll see it and I'm sure I'll have fun doing so.
