The only two truly great lead actors these days are Kenneth Branagh and Sean Penn. Whoever is third is distantly so.

Just want to be clear, that wasn't meant as a dig on you. Sean Penn is the actor being referenced in the 'full retard' quote from Tropic Thunder.

And, finally, Three Billboards was an exceptional movie. I can't believe how many times I legit  at the dialogue. It wasn't a perfect film but it was entertaining.

Source of the post There's an active community who celebrates burbs day on the 2nd Saturday of July and it gets pretty intense.
Next (first?) 5AF meet up date has been determined.

Only saw it once when it first came out and it left such a bad impression, I've never revisited it.

Same with Joe vs. The Volcano.

So, Eva Green has pretty good chemistry with Daniel Craig. Casino Royale is still the best Craig Bond film, imo. I'd forgotten that Bond won the DB5 (blown up in Skyfall, rebuilt for Sceptre) in a poker game in the Bahamas.

Kingsman 2: Electric Boogaloo was too long, and not as good as the first one, but enjoyable.

The former: correct

The latter: so bad that it's worth a rewatch

Bruce dern is coming to the steel City Con or whatever it's called and I'd be pretty stupid not to get him to sign some burbs artwork

I watched Sideways last night... it was on HBO go and it had some good reviews.

"Meh" is my commentary. Wasn't a bad movie, but certainly wasn't 96% on Rotten Tomatoes worthy...

IT didn't impress me. The kids were great, but I hated the cgi zombies and fast forward clown moves, that is not scary. Every time he opened his mouth, he reminded me of a bad cgi Rawhead Rex (a much superior movie)

Sideways will always have a soft spot in le Cœur de la Tif. It's about wine, and the Virginia Madsen 'life of wine' monologue is everything wine nerds like me love about wine and viticulture. The area it was shot (Santa Maria Valley; Buellton, Los Olivos, Paso Robles) is very special to me, and I've been there many times (Hitching Post ftw!). I was working at Fox when it came out, so the first time I saw it was at the Zanuck Theater on the lot over my lunch break.

Fun fact that I've heard anecdotally and never verified: The only winery that granted them permission to shoot on their property was Andrew Murray, so every time you see the characters out among grapes, it's somewhere on the Murray property. And one of my good friends was college roommates with the wine maker at AM. So every time we'd get together for dinner, he'd have 3 or 4 bottles from AM in tow.

So everything together, even if I regarded the movie as sub-meh, I'd still be fond of it.

I remember that the filming rights were sold before the book it was based on was even published. I enjoyed both at the time, but really don’t have any recollection of either.
