Driven 2.

Yeah, hence the reference. One of the funniest things about the production was F1 telling them to pound sand.

Kramer vs Kramer is really good. I appreciate films like that where there's no true protagonist and antagonist. It reminded me a lot of a wonderful Iranian film: A Separation
My mom wanted to see this when it came out. Obviously the drama sailed 1,000' over my head, but the child-of-a-single-parent thing resonated with me, as I was roughly the same age as the kid. So him splitting his forehead open in the playground is an image that's pretty well permanently seared into my memory systems.
I’m a child of divorce too but with 5 siblings so it’s a little different. Also, it kind of frustrated me seeing emotionally intelligent people like the parents going through a divorce compared to my parents who…aren’t the most compassionate people of alltime

I mean the main reason is because I wanna see it. Something just tells me it's not gonna be good.
As I suspected. Not really that good. Plot was kind of stupid, and had zero tie in to toy story at all (it was "the movie Andy saw that made him want a buzz Lightyear toy"). I wouldn't recommend spending money on it unless you have at least a 7-8 year old kid that might like it. My almost 4 year old begged to leave the theater multiple times. Smh

Other than Toy Stories 2 and 3, every Pixar sequel or prequel has been a soulless money grab. I avoid them like the plague

Well you can do that when you don't have kids and want to do something fun with them

The first preview I saw for this had me asking, “Who wanted this?” Because it looked very blah. Also, you have an iconic voice for him in Tim Allen. Wtf are you doing changing that up.

My guess is they didn't want to pay Allen, however you could say Allen is the voice in Andy's Buzz, and this is the movie Andy saw to want Buzz. It fits in the story line and probably saved Pixar a boatload of cash. But yeah, they got me hook line and sinker, grown millennial kid looking for nostalgia with my son.

At this point, I would think Chris Evans would have a bigger ask than Tim Allen.

I would be surprised if they saved money on Tim Allen by paying Chris Evans, but the day is still young.

I thought it was because they wanted to differentiate the character of Buzz Lightyear the toy from Buzz Lightyear the in-universe fictional character

I’d agree except that the voice programmed into the toy when a kid hits the buttons is Tim Allen. Seriously no reason to change that iconic voice of a character unless they thought this was gonna be BIG and spawn a 29 year franchise.

It's just like real life. Tom Hanks doesn't voice Woody merch. (It's actually his brother)

You should go watch Knives Out. Great film, and he's great in it.

You might not recognize Dodger by name, but he's very popular on the socials.
