I think I prefer Pt II because of the story structure, but there isn't really a wrong answer between which of the two is 'better'. They are both stellar films.

No matter how long I live, the NYE scene in Havana still gives me chills. There is no more menacing Bad Guy than 'Quiet Michael', and Quiet Michael was never more menacing than when he told Fredo "You broke my heart." Oooh, I get goosebumps even typing it. SO good.

I can’t remember…has Kevin Smith done anything with any of the Marvel or DC movies of the last 15 years? I feel like he’s been involved with writing or directing some of them but can’t remember

anywho, I really hope in Clerks 3 they have Randal do a riff on super hero movies. It’s very ripe for the picking to be **** on similar to LOTR in Clerks 2

This is the giant Superman spider story I talked about earlier.

We watched Sea Beast for family movie night, and Karl Urban plays the lead character. I was expecting him to continually refer to the monsters as 'massive NTP66s' the entire movie.

At some point in his life a writing teacher told Kevin Smith to “write what you know” and holy hell did he take that advice to heart.
This made me lol.

KS is an incredible story teller irl. Like I would pay my own damn money to go spend an hour in an auditorium with him telling Hollywood war stories. The giant mechanical spider from his Superman story is breathtaking in the reach of its stupidity.
Yep. I saw him speak many years ago. He talked for maybe 3 hours yet answered less than 10 questions. It was fantastic. I was a huge View Askew fan. Made the trek to Quick Stop/RST, met Walt at the Stash, saw his college tour, and finally met Kevin (and some stars of Degrassi TNG) at a signing at his west coast Stash. The dude is such a good storyteller and that’s part of the reason why his recent run of films have been so disappointing. He’s still a great talker, but it feels like he has run out of stories to tell in film. I think Cop Out broke him. I have high hopes for Clerks 3 because it’s finally a return to a personal story that he’s deeply connected to. That’s when he’s at his best. I’m concerned because the trailer is filled the the brim with self-referential winks at the camera. Save that for J&SB solo films.

I thought the trailer looked decent. I’m all for it.

We saw him at Smodcastle in Hollywood around 2004/5 or so, presenting The Shark Is Still Working. He had a 1:1 scale engineering schematic of Bruce the shark on one wall of the theater. He actually did a great job as presenter/moderator. Plus I love how this fan-made labor of love has sort of become the unofficial-official making-of docu for Jaws, being included with like every home video release of Jaws since then.

That was the Willis one, right? That set sounded like a disaster.

So far in this phase of Marvel

Spiderman: knocked it out of the park

Strange: single

Thor: swing and a miss

Just finished Thor. It just didn’t work humor wise for some reason. Like it was just slightly off in every way. The power scaling of villains is also way off. It was just so unsatisfying.

I enjoyed Top Gun Maverick. The loud noises in the theater made it even better.

What the **** is this? This feels like a student film. A high school student film. I'm going to assume the video quality and sound mix are meant to be done so poorly to match the style of a 60s tv show? Who is this movie for?

Watched the new Downton Abbey movie with my wife and mother-in-law. Nothing exceptional, but like comfort food - satisfying and easy to digest. If you've watched the series, it's worth the 2 hours.

We watched Turning Red over the weekend. Enjoyed it quite a lot, but I would still like to know where Mei Mei's parents got that box of kittens.

The dad was the hero of the story imo. Excellent cook, pretty relaxed and groovy.

Like all of Rob Zombie's movies, they're made for him and his wife and that's about it.

I went into Jurassic World with really low expectations, but man was it bad. Even the original players couldn’t save it.

The more I think about that movie, the worse it gets. There were so many lame callbacks to the original that just didn’t work, and on top of that, it was probably 40 minutes longer than it should have been.

If they made yet another in this series, I would not watch it. And this is coming from a guy who would be in the theater opening weekend for a Jurassic Park 4 if they made one with the original cast.

Hobbes and Shaw. Oh boy, this was not good. A couple cool action scenes, but I felt like I watched 3 different movies all crammed together.

The Sea Beast. Entire family enjoyed this. Pretty dark story at times, animation was fantastic.

Last Night in Soho. No idea what this was going in and I loved it. Look forward to watching it again to pick up on more stuff. Amazing soundtrack.
