I just watched a YouTube videovideo on Lindsey Ellis' channel called "Why Is 'Cats'", and it was amazing.

TIL

Cats is based on a book of children's poetry written by T.S. Eliot. "Not minding it hurts" comes to mind again......

The song 'Memory' was not added to the show until it was well into previews, a week or so before its premier....... so releasing this work unto the world un-finished is apparently just how you do it.

A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon (on Netflix) was great. The entire family loved it. My wife and I really enjoyed the original, as well.

My daughter had zero interest in Honey, I Shrunk the Kids. To be fair, the trailer isn’t great, and I think she’s probably still a little too young to appreciate it. Same for Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

I just watched "Crash" (2004)...definitely one of the worst lauded movies I've seen. It's basically a highlight (lowlight) reel of various forms of overt racism that by awe-inspiring coincidence are strung together in the most hamfisted way possible. The film reads like a game show where the director has to string together as many issues of race, class, and means in under two hours and the over/under was set at: late-life Clint Eastwood. It hits the over easily with a series of largely-hollow vignettes that mirror closer to The Simpsons 138th Episode Spectacular than they do The Color Purple...

You get some anger out of Matt Dillon's driving while black scene, you really only gain any connection to Michael Peña's character and family - who are miraculously spared as a reward for him working his way up honestly (I guess?) and that's basically it...the rest is just backwash into what is apparently a violent sea of terror for everyone, every day that - if true - wouldn't require a feature film to skim the surface of all. of. it. because it would be so manifestly obvious to all in the first place...

I'll take "Fantasy films shot in New Zealand with great musical scores." for $600.

I know people hate the female remakes of classics, but Oceans 8 is so much fun. And Anne Hathaway? She is just so beautiful. I love watching her in anything.

@obhave I will grant you that 8 was light years better than the new Ghostbusters.

I always get Crash mixed up with the drug movie Traffic. Their posters look very similar and the names confuse me.

That... Isn't hard haha

Whatever, Oceans 8 was just as fun to me as the original Oceans movies. I'm hoping they do a combo cast for a 5th movie.

Traffic was tremendous. It hit pretty hard, for reasons, and really gave me pause.

Ditto. Especially because of the Cincinnati part.
