I would like it to be good because Robbie is hot and Winstead is hot and I always liked Black Mask as a Batman villain and Ewan McGregor is always good, but the threat of Leto Joker and needing to bring in Chad Stahelski to re-design and re-shoot all of the action scenes doesn't bode well for the overall quality of the film.

Joker's gone in this universe. I mean, that's one of the few known plot points - Harley has left Misteh J.

But, I mean.... cameos............... yeesh.

I thought Booksmart was great! I laughed consistently throughout. From seeing the previews I thought the 2 main girls would be annoying, but it was really well done.

I know re-shoots are usually bad overall, but I can't see this as anything other than a plus. Essentially "hey, these action scenes suck, let's bring in someone who's good at them to make them not suck."

Sure, the conversation rate is generally super low, but every once in a while you get a Mad Max Fury Road (in terms of re-shoots leading to a positive outcome).

Agreed. Obviously the parallels to Superbad are there, but it still manages to stand on its own.

I'm not sure if I've seen Superbad, I certainly know of the movie, but can't really remember anything about it except for police breaking up a kids party? Maybe I've only seen some of it. I came away thinking Clueless and Dazed and Confused, but either way, I quite enjoyed it! When they first showed the gay drama club people, my wife said, oh boy, here we go, but in the end they really nailed all of the characters. I loved how the message came across while not taking itself so seriously too. I'll take more movies like this anytime.

I'd give it another whirl at some point when you're in the mood for something light. It doesn't completely stand the test of time but the majority of it is still excellent.

If they do, be sure to cast Sandra Bullock. You can't go wrong!

looks like 5 years later, I finally get to see how bad James Franco ruined one of my favorite books. Looks like he got his buddies together and made it at home over a weekend. great, thanks

I could only make it halfway through that trailer. Why the hell is it 3 minutes long?

not real sure, but pick up the book if you want to experience something different that really goes into a love of film and music and well other places.
Zeroville begins in 1969 on Hollywood Boulevard, when a Greyhound bus drops off a film-obsessed ex-seminarian with images of Elizabeth Taylor and Montgomery Clift tattooed on his head. Vikar Jerome steps into the vortex of a cultural transformation: rock ’n’ roll, sex, drugs, and — far more important to him — the decline of the movie studios and the rise of the independent director. Jerome will become a film editor of astonishing vision. Then through encounters with former starlets, burglars, political guerillas, punk musicians, and veteran filmmakers, he discovers the astonishing secret that lies in every movie ever made.

I read this on your recommendation, and I am eternally grateful.

not sure where to put this as it's a music video, but apparently they've made a 50 minute movie sequel that's showing at fantastic fest today. Maybe watch it later on drugs or something...

Hollywood wanted me to belive Brad Pitt as an Army General. It kind of works because I don't hold military senior leadership in very high regard.

Now they want me to suspend enough disbelief that I can accept him as an astronaut. Naw man, no way. The crew from Armageddon were more believable as astronauts.

Wow, is Lost Soul: The Doomed Journey of Richard Stanley's Island of Dr. Moreau an incredible documentary on Amazon. I love hardware and dust devil and figured Richard Stanley was out there, but hearing him talk about this disaster of a movie is so interesting (witchcraft?!?). Go watch this movie if you enjoy seeing behind the scenes how something can go so wrong. This guy is a nut and we were so worse off in the movie world without him all this time.

I am so excited Stanley is back with a new Lovecraft movie with nic cage.
