The Rock was so preoccupied with whether or not he could, he didn’t stop to think if he should.

I watched Raiders of the Lost Ark the other day and realized that a) I had never seen the second half of the movie and b) I didn't miss much. Spielberg really peaked in 1975.

Apparently, Johnny Depp was fired (and given full pay) from his role, which should never have been taken from Colin Farrell, in the Harry Potter prequel series that is utterly unwatchable due to presence of Eddie Redmayne.

Define "last half" or Raiders. I could see your point from the submarine scene to the end but the last half is a bit much...

This is my favorite tidbit about Raiders

In the AMA, Ford said the scene was actually supposed to be a lengthy sword fight. But he was suffering from dysentery at the time, and he could only film scenes in 10-minute increments before having to run to his trailer to, uh, take care of business. Instead, Ford and director Steven Spielberg decided it would be better to have Indiana shoot the swordsman, considering the scene would've taken an extra three days to shoot.

duh, that's my favorite scene in the movie.

Look guys, I like the movie(s). It's just that... well, let's say Spielberg is first and foremost and entertainer, not an artist. And there is nothing wrong with that.
Movie Thread
I like Spielberg because he can do both very well

I'd probably like RotLA more if it had less action.

Interesting. Of the 3 indy movies, I think it has the least action. I remember my kids not being thrilled with it when they were younger because it was too talky (thanks marvel movies). In my eyes, it's just about a perfect movie as you can get, although I always had more fun with Doom.

One of the comments on the YT clip was a guy talking about how the whole theater erupted in laughter at that part and he hasn't seen a genuine reaction to a scene like that since.https://www.businessinsider.com/harriso ... ama-2014-4

Did you watch Big Bang Theory? Did you see (or just know) Amy's comments on Raiders? That Indy played no part in the outcome of the story arc..I watched Raiders of the Lost Ark the other day and realized that a) I had never seen the second half of the movie and b) I didn't miss much. Spielberg really peaked in 1975.

Opening the Ark pretty much nullifies everything Indy did save the nazis he killed.
