Bloodsport has more reason to be on the top 100 than Infinity War

Empire Magazine posted an article on their top 100 films of all time. They combined reader votes with the staff critics and the list is... questionable.
Top 10:
10) Goodfellas
9) Raiders of the Lost Ark
8) Infinity War
7) Pulp Fiction
6) Jaws
5) Shawshank Redemption
4) The Dark Knight
3) The Godfather
2) Empire Strikes Back
1) Fellowship of the Ring
https://www.empireonline.com/movies/fea ... -movies-2/

Not that I dislike any of those, but that's the top 10? Woof. I saw a comment saying this is like the list of most popular movie posters hung in a freshman dorm. Spot on.
Infinity War...........................

Remember when we as a group had a discussion about the weight that the opinions of fans should be given in the NFL thread? This is why that's very dumb.

As for my generation, if it were dorm room posters Donnie Darko would figure much higher. And instead of Pulp Fiction it would be Reservoir Dogs because of the Mr White/Mr Pink pointing guns at each other poster.

I mean, are we gonna start saying that critics' opinions are much better? because I can very easily show some evidence that critics are morons too

ultimately lists like these are useless. film taste is way too subjective. they're a good starting point if you're looking to discover some new movies but thinking they're the end all be all is a waste of time

ok I can't help it. here's the list that enrages me: https://www.indiewire.com/2016/08/100-g ... 201719368/

top 100 movies of the 21st century as voted on by critics. No LOTR, no Gladiator and no Whiplash is enough for me to immediately ignore this list (it does have, however, AI, Let the Right One In and Ratatouille which are all crap)

I'll be honest, I remember there was a little confusion because a friend recommended me Let the Right One In and I can't remember if I watched the original or the American remake which, according to IMDB, is a bit worse. but whichever one I did see, I do remember disliking it

Let the Right One In is amazing and Let Me In is an unnecessary but still pretty amazing adaptation.

This is a stunningly bad take. Even as someone who enjoys a good strong take here and there, this has easily gotta be among the Top 10 worst takes in this thread as voted on by me.

(And I also think LtROI is great but can see how it might not be completely accessible taste-wise)

eh, I thought it was very subpar for a Pixar movie. Felt like it was all over the place and none of the characters really engaged me

compared to a Coco, Inside Out, Finding Nemo, Toy Story, Wall-E, it's nothing

Ratatouille is part of an insane run Pixar went on with Ratatouille, Wall-E, and Up all in a row. It’s up there with their best.

Correct. 1999-2010 Pixar was fantastic.

We just watched Ratatouille last week with our kids. They wanted no part of it before we started watching, but after the credits they had all kinds of questions and comments. Great movie.

Of all the Pixar films that I've watched, I'm not sure I've ever been disappointed with one. There are ones like Soul and Turning Red that I watched once and that was enough. Don't need to see them again, but I wasn't disappointed or angry with them like some seemed to be.

Post 2010: Lightyear was good, Luca was great, Onward was surprisingly pretty decent, Coco was one of my absolute favorites, The Good Dinosaur is way underrated, Inside Out was phenomenal. They had some bangers in there. Of course if you go long enough, you'll have some duds.

I just looked through the entire list of Pixar films, and there's not one single bad one. They range from good (Lightyear) to excellent (Toy Story).

"Of all the Pixar films that I've watched..."

Never watched list for me: Cars 2 & 3, Brave

Can't speak on those three.

I couldn't sleep, so I watched St. Elmos Fire for the first time last night. Seen most of the other Brat Pack movies, but never this one.

It was, strange?
