I wasn't a big BAR fan either. Really, the only Coen movies I can say I love are Fargo and No Country for Old Men. The latter of the two might be my favorite movie of all time.
I enjoy a handful of their other flicks (Raising Arizona, Blood Simple, Miller's Crossing) but a lot of their filmography doesn't do much for me.

Going along with the book vs movie thing too, I'm not sure there is something as faithful to the book as No Country for Old Man.

Thanks for the warning.

No, the original. The book is tedious, the film is a lot more fun. Is it faithful to the book? Not entirely. You what now?I think Jurassic Park is better than the book.

I mean... hasn't that already happened?I know that there's an old fan theory that Fight Club is a Joker origin story, but I'll have to see the new movie before figuring out if people are going to take up mass terrorism as a hobby.
Also, there's this possible after-effect to consider: https://thehardtimes.net/harddrive/revi ... up-comedy/

This is also the case with Jaws. The book is, quite simply, awful. Full of unfulfilled sub-plots - Is there really a reason for Mrs Brody to have an affair with Hooper? For Mayor Vaughn to be compromised by the Mob? - and silly allegory - Quint dies the same way Capt Ahab dies! - and the climax of the story is the leviathan just................ dies. The hero plays no active role in dispatching it, the shark just quits living. It is. So. Stupid. No, the original. The book is tedious, the film is a lot more fun. Is it faithful to the book? I disagree about the book being tedious. I quite enjoyed it. This is also one instance where the movie is just exceptional overall and did the book justice. No, the original. The irony of course being that at the end of the commercial the kid does in fact 'like it', and then immediately dies from eating pop rocks and drinking Coke.

I would say The Godfather is another movie that is better than the book.
The laundry list of great actors aside, the movie doesn't have entire chapters dedicated to the bridesmaid's cavernous vagina.

For some reason the most memorable thing from that book for me is when Johnny goes to LA and gets bored banging over-the-hill prior generation hollywood starlets.
