Nightmare before Christmas - love the music
Home Alone - never gets old, still laugh like crazy and nothing is better when I hear my kids belly laugh. Maybe John Williams most underrated score?
Batman Returns - haven't watched this one in a while and it's pretty dark. Might be the best batman movie pre nolan? Like a lot of Elmans stuff, it's funny hearing Making Christmas song in the music here.

"The Meyerowitz Stories." Streaming on Netflix right now. Funny, sad, introspective. An excellent ensemble movie. Recommended.
I thought the latest Thor was a fun ride as well. I left the theater thinking, "that's how I wanted to feel after GOTG 2." I think one of the main reasons is Hemsworth actually seems excited to be there and is having genuine fun letting loose a bit, whereas Pratt in GOTG 2 seemed like he'd rather be anywhere else than filming -- that was an oddly uninspired performance he turned in.

Meyerowitz Stories was good. A toned down Wes Anderson movie, basically.

We watched The Hitman's Bodyguard last night. It's a predictable, turn your brain off and watch, funny, action adventure flick.

So WSJ is reporting that Disney is in talks to purchase 21st Century Fox, which could pave the way for X-Men and Deadpool to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
I wouldn't mind that.

Why would Disney do that? They release their R movies from their other studios.

"Lady Bird." Some really funny parts, some really sad parts. All in all, a good movie that gets better the more I think about it.

Brian Singer has been fired as director of the new Freddie Mercury biopic. Speaking of Hollywood sexual deviancy, it's amazing that he has not been outed yet.

A new report indicates Tarantino pitched a concept for a new Trek film to Star Trek producer J.J. Abrams, and that Abrams is planning to assemble a writer’s room to make Tarantino’s idea a reality. If it works out, Tarantino might direct the next Star Trek film himself.
