The build-up in the village is great. Again, it's the twist that totally undercuts and ruins the entire movie. M. Night is really great at suspense but he turned into a one-trick pony and thought everything he did had to have some dumbass twist.

Totally agree. The twist in the Village ruins the movie because it robs the last 15 or so minutes of any drama.

That looks fun. Side note: I hope Malkovich shows up in every single Netflix movie.

That Velvet Buzzsaw thing is bonkers. Is it an original IP, or a derivative of some other work? Cos that idea is insane, in a good way.

Same.

I liked Signs. *shrug*

Sixth Sense was spoiled for me so I ended up watching it for the first time about a year ago.
Same.

The concept seems pretty great.

The acting in the trailer portends not great.

Malkovich must have nudie pix of Netflix execs.

Signs was a really good movie right up to the final 8 minutes or so.

It's not as big a fall off as the climax to that Scorsese movie that ends in a comedy montage of people opening doors and getting shot in the face before an actual rat runs across the balcony, but it's in the same neighborhood.
I did like the face blast. But the rat was so cheesy (nyuknyuknyuk) that i couldn't believe it happened. I mean, ok, i can live with Nicholson's laughably inadequate accent, but the rat? comeonnow.

Got 3 hours into the directors cut of Once Upon A Time In America. This movie has a few of my favorite shots from any movie and the flashback scenes cut to Bobby Deniro remembering really hits me in the gut, but man I do not remember him being so rapey in the movie. It's really disturbing. The music is wonderful.

Yeah, when I was reading about the movie after I watched, I learned that. Good to have a picture to go with it. I would like to eat that.

Bad Times at the El Royale was pretty good. Jeff Bridges is still awesome, and two Parks and Recs alums - Nick Offerman and Jim O’Heir - had small roles.
