Last Action Hero is an overlooked gem. I love it in all of its goofiness.

True Lies ftw; easily a top 10 action movie of all-time for me. The whole Simon/Carlos The Jackal tangent is pure what-the-f**kery, but it's such a hoot I don't care.

Remember when I promised to kill you last?

Yeah, yeah… you said that!

I lied!

Popped an eddy and watched "Turning Red" last night as I had kind of a tough mental health day for some reason...movie stunk. But my thing is: how was the writer able to present this idea to anyone and not get laughed at the room...?
Basically, a 13 year old Asian chick starts drawing porn in her room Superbad style. Desperately wants to bang everyone from college drop-outs to just random middle schoolers - girls and guys. Her mom ***** her up, then she turns into a fake panda to fight back. Mom turns into an even bigger panda, goes on a killing spree at a boy band concert - destroying a $1.1 billion (CAD) stadium in the process. Mom panda gets conked in the head by daughter who is 1/500th of her size. Then all the menopausal family members have to get their periods (they do this by breaking a piece of jewelry that they wear around) in order to pull her into this chalk body outline so that their periods can go to the moon where they belong (?). 13 year old remains a panda now because she can suddenly control it and just use it regardless of her emotional state,.. unrelated: a lot of people gain the power of flight at about the 90% mark of the movie. All in all, one of the worst period pieces that I've seen and I watched Shakespeare in Love this weekend too...bit a tough one for me these last few days.
She goes to Lester B. Pearson school or some such, nice reference to the old NHLPA most outstanding player award...the one hockey reference I didn't get was the teacher having a poster for the 1980 Winter Games (hockey). Why would someone from Toronto has the USSR/USA poster? Canada didn't give a **** about that game...
Well, in honor of Gilbert Gottfried. I'd like to redo my review...

...you recommended that I watch "Turning Red"...if I wanted to watch a movie about a 13 year old Asian girl bleeding out of her c*nt for two hours, I'd just sign in to Bob Saget's Dropbox account!

RIP Gilbert.

Finally got around to watching Dune, loved it

It’s one of those movies that I can see myself watching over and over because the cinematography is so good. Like I’ve watched Fury Road and The Revenant dozens of times because they are visually so amazing

We watched The Bubble so you don't have to. It was 6 or 7 good bits, and a couple other gems, haphazardly scattered around the 2 hrs. The concept and general shtick were funny, but, like........ the actual movie part of it was drecky.

Stumbled on The Time Machine on TCM last night. It's a film I absolutely cherish. I wish the reboot hadn't been so disappointing. It'd be great to have it redone with modern effects but with the story left alone.

Sonic 2, good for the kids, had some super cringe moments, but overall pretty decent for what it was.

Spent five minutes trying to find the nocera thread of Disney (that thread exists, right?). Sorry.

My wife took our daughter to this at AMT in Lancaster tonight. She said it's really good. I looked at the cast... Really impressive names on there. OG Meg from Hercules which is fun and some big Broadway names.

Watched The Batman again, I love how Bruce is a weird, creepy, whiny little dodint. It's laugh out loud funny at times. This movie rules.

You either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain.

Bill Murray kind of seems like a pain in the ass in real life.

Every movie Bill Murray is in, he comes across as "I'm the star, I'm the funniest, the rest of you are in my movie."

His on-set behavior is well documented, I agree. I wonder what these allegations are that finally broke the camel's back.

Murray had "lived long enough to see himself become the villain" like 40 years ago.

I was pleased that Robert Pattinson didn’t distract me.

Thought it was well done.

Yeah, he killed it. Which is something I never thought I’d say.

In other news, family movie night tonight will see the completion of the Harry Potter series. I’m actually sad about this, as we’ve all really enjoyed it.
