lol just saw that Lightyear has a 4.9/10 on IMDB right now. Now it might’ve been reviewbombed by trolls who freaked out when they saw a lesbian couple kiss but it’s still not a great start

Out of less than 1,500 reviews, 550+ are 1 stars for a movie that's almost 80% positive on Rotten Tomatoes. Definitely the work of trolls.

For some reason I just watched 1517 to Paris.

Most of the movie is terribly boring. Casting the actual people involved was a bad idea from a cinematic standpoint, but I respect Clint for taking care of those guys.

The train part itself was actually really well done. There's just no way you can turn that into a 100 minute film. I'm almost convinced he did it solely to give those guys a payday.

No, there is no Heat 2 in the works...but Michael Mann is writing a book sequel, with flashbacks and so on. Might be a good read.

When 92 years old you reach, look as good you will not.

Honestly I was shocked to see him looking so vibrant. He is clearly enjoying retirement.

Kramer vs Kramer is really good. I appreciate films like that where there's no true protagonist and antagonist. It reminded me a lot of a wonderful Iranian film: A Separation

"Hustle" was a solid enough of a watch -- you know exactly what you're getting. Not breaking any new ground, but executes the genre well.

Watched RRR again, what a movie! Still the best thing I've seen this year.

I finally had the chance to sit down and watch Ti West's new flick, X, and I loved ever second pf it. I'm admittedly a sucker for 70's era slashers, so this was pretty much meant for me, and I wasn't let down. It's been rare for me to find movies I want to watch repeatedly the past few years, but this will definitely be going into my annual rotation. Can't wait for the prequel too.

My mom wanted to see this when it came out. Obviously the drama sailed 1,000' over my head, but the child-of-a-single-parent thing resonated with me, as I was roughly the same age as the kid. So him splitting his forehead open in the playground is an image that's pretty well permanently seared into my memory systems.

The TG:M guy is apparently setting his sights on Formula 1 next, and wants to pursue a similar practical f/x filming strategy. Yay
