Speaking of 3 hour long superhero movies, I really enjoyed The Batman. It's a good movie that could be great if they cut 30-40 minutes. I really felt the runtime during the second hour and there are a few scenes that are redundant. Pattinson is a great Batman and a meh Bruce Wayne. I didn't really care for the Conor Oberst Bruce but his Batman is up there with the best of the series. I'm looking forward to seeing that character try to become "Bruce Wayne" in the next film. Zoe Kravitz is my favorite screen version of Catwoman (sorry Halle). The mood, score, and cinematography are so damn good. This movie is not an action movie at all. In fact, I often felt like the action got in the way of the story. Even in action scenes, the camera is focused on close ups of the characters and while that sometimes makes the physical action hard to follow, it totally fits with this film's tone and themes. I can't say it's better than The Dark Knight, but it's damn close.

And if you haven't seen it yet, this edit is amazing:
Here's the full making-of episode:

Corridor is our weekend morning viewing. Saturday is their 'react' show, and Sunday is whatever this show is called.

Also I just saw on IG that Matt Reeves approves of (and shared) Corridor's trailer for The Batman.

Reeves and Pattinson will be back for the Batman sequel. Just announced at some comic book convention this afternoon.

That looks ridiculous and very well could be the best one since the original. Can't wait

So you guys saw Fallen Kingdom and then watched that trailer and still think it's going to be good? I wish I had that kind of blind optimism.

Well that's not true. I like good things. And I was one of the few on here defending the Battinson casting. Fallen Kingdom is a terrible movie and that trailer looks like more of the same except with the "hey remember these guys?" factor.

I will never not watch a Jurassic Park movie. This looks fun. I had high hopes for fallen kingdom because of the director and there were some cool scenes, but ultimately it didn't do much for me. I'll still watch it again before this though. I always wanted to see a JP movie on civilized main land, this looks like what I've been wanting to see.

Hey I hope I'm wrong and it's as good as you want it to be. That trailer does not fill me with confidence. Also judging by the San Diego incident, dinosaurs on the main land doesn't really work for me. If Spielberg can't figure it out, I don't think Trevorrow can.

You don't count The Lost World? I just rewatched that the other day. I think it was the better book of the two, but that movie just kind of unwinds with nowhere to go.

It has been so long since I read the books that I honestly cannot recall which one I liked more. I do love The Lost World, though.

I don't remember the lost world movie except that girl doing gymnastics and Vince Vaughn being in it for some reason. I should watch again, but at one point I thought it was the worst JP movie and the worst Spielberg had made. It's been at least a decade though

It's the one where they thought snatching a t-rex baby away from its parents was a good idea. It was the plot device that drove the last 2/3rds of the movie.

Let's be real, the Jurassic Park franchise is one amazing movie followed by increasingly mediocre attempts at recreating the original's magic.

We got into it here before but it's better than any of the other sequels. We'll have some weirdo say that 3 is better but that weirdo is wrong and weird.

I'm not sure why I hate three so much. I like all the actors. And the plot is okay. It has to be some combination of the kid, and those silly giant birdcages.
