There's the "DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES" skull at the start of the ride, too. That's the only other one I can remember.

Let's face it: We're just here for Scarlet.

Huge fan of the first three pirate movies. Don't really remember the rest, but I think the newest one had a pretty cool scene in it at the beginning with the building and I think it might have been a fun movie?

Which of them opened with the hanging of a child? I remember being surprised to see that in a Disney flick. I think it was World’s End?

I like the first three as well and thought Dead Men Tell No Tales was enjoyable after the very bad On Stranger Tides, but Black Pearl is heads and shoulders above all of them. Just so fun and enjoyable and full of Knightley. The theme song is up there with Imperial March as one of my favorite pieces of movie music.

Here's that opening scene, btw.

The rest of the movie isn't able to follow this opening.

This is correct. And we'll say Knightley one more time just because

TIL:
I was having a drink with Hugh Laurie, with whom I’d worked on his series House, and I told him I wanted to write a breakup letter from King George to the colonies. Without blinking, he improv’d at me, “Awwww, you’ll be back,” wagging his finger. I laughed and filed it away. Thanks, Hugh Laurie." -LMM

Much like Cameron Diaz in the Mask, Kiera Knightly’s bustier lied to me about a couple things.

We just watched all the Lirates movies except for the 4th with the kids on Disney plus. It was a hit all around. Not sure why they don’t have the 4th one on there.
.
Side note: I hated the change in Sparrow’s look in the 5th one, just too busy, dreadlocks but not dreadlocks, 14 guns, bulky clothing everywhere. He wasn’t so much a pirate anymore as he was a coatrack. I also felt like Depp lost the character.

At some point in the past Disney sold the streaming rights to OST to Starz and have not completely bought it back yet. It’s on some rotational schedule between the two services.

Yeah they must’ve sold the streaming rights before Disney+ was a thing and now they’re under a dumb contract. It’s set to return September 2021. So mark your calendar I guess?

This isn’t normal. It’s in 1080 on Netflix, and looks awful. Want a good example? Fast forward to when Grant and company first see the brachiosaurus and look at the entire sky and background.
I watched this on 4k last night and this was easily the worst part. I probably wouldn't be upset if he went back in and updated the cgi for this, it's not flattering in 4k. The disc was better than I remember though. The sound was pretty awesome.

The entire T-Rex scene is really a sight to behold. Truly incredible stuff going on there. Got serious Indy vibes from the beginning of the movie. What an amazing movie.

Jurassic Park is one of those movies where if I come across it in my guide, I’m watching it.

Project Power (Netflix) was good; I enjoyed it. Better than Old Guard, that’s for damn sure.

Watched the first season of Fleabag in one day. Solid watch.

Well this should’ve been in the tv thread...

Slumber Party Massacre 2 has a really interesting breakdancing scene. It's almost a musical...

That 2013 Blu-ray is real bad. The 4k is not awful. Still needs a legit transfer done that is true to the original print.

The 4K would be my choice, as it should be easier to bump up the brightness on your set. If you look through the thread, it's definitely got the most detail.

Watched 4k labyrinth, my sweet Jareth is that transfer absolutely glorious. Those goblins have it made, they get to hang out and dance to Bowie singing all day. What a life.
