I rewatched the whole series recently. 3 is very bad to the point where it feels like a parody. I had fun with Jurassic World but it's basically a JP remake the same way Force Awakens is a remake of Star Wars. It's not a horrible movie but it's not anywhere close to the original. Lost World is my favorite sequel despite its silliness. Bad Spielberg is still better than most. 3 and Fallen Kingdom are straight trash.

I'll also put a disclaimer in that I can't really think of more than 5 or 6 movies I've seen in the last 10-20 years that I didn't like haha

I mentioned earlier that I don't actually know which of the new movies are which. Or even how many there are. All the ones with Ron Howard's kid running around the jungle in high heels are the same to me.

Hey. Hey hey. Hey.
I do not think JPIII is 'better'. I think it did a better job of meeting my expectations.
When the bar is set at "Steven Spielberg+Janusz Kamiński+Michael Kahn+John Williams+Rick Carter+Stan Winston+Gary Rydstrom, and you've added Pete Postlethwaite to your cast", you had best deliver.

I feel like that is a line that would come out of my wife's mouth in regards to pretty much any movie that I hold in high regards from the 80's or 90's.

Same. I've been astounded by the things my wife hasn't seen, it's become a running joke in our house. She just found out about Road House last month.

Haven't seen that either.

I'll add it to the list, lol. So far its JP, Road House, Alien, and The Godfather.

My god man. Why are you here? Go watch movies.

We have a movie club at work with monthly themes. Agatha Christie, female directors, etc. This month is AAPI, and the first movie is Kung-Fu Hustle.
Not sure how that fits the theme, but I'm in!

Forgot that Guy Ritchie had done a new movie, it popped up on Netflix last night, The Gentlemen". Was quite the trip, and would definitely recommend. Hugh Grant as a slimy hustler and Colin Farrell as whatever that was, great. Definitely back to Snatch and Lock Stock style Ritchie films.

Just watched The Batman yesterday. Loved it. A little too long, but still a good movie IMO. I'm a huge batman fan.
Also, never seen any of the Godfathers or Alien movies. That's on my list.

I finally got the chance to watch it last night as well. Loved it. Definitely up there at the top of my favorite Batman movies. Maybe at the very top. It just felt different. Never felt like a superhero movie or even a "realistic" take on a comic character. It was long but it never felt long and I'm not sure what they could have cut to reduce the run time. Everything flowed pretty quickly and seamlessly. Was never really sold on John Turturro as a mob boss, but thought the rest of the cast was great. Pattinson was perfect for this dark, rage filled Batman and weirdo isolated Bruce Wayne. Looking forward to seeing how both characters evolve over the follow ups. Really enjoyed Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman (is she the tiniest human alive?). Thought the world building and character building were great. Loved that we're just dropped into Year 2 of the "Gotham Project". Great movie.
