This film is so much crazier, darker, and violent than the quiet trailer suggests. Easily stands among @saulnier_jeremy's and @MaconBlair's best. Whether in theaters or at home, make this one your weekend watch.

Felix Leiter, Eric Northman, Elvis' granddaughter, and PFC Robert Leckie is a pretty solid cast.

Peter Jackson is remastering and colorizing old World War I film to produce a documentary. Weta has previously done work on museum exhibits about Gallipoli, and the Kiwi involvement in that War, so I'm excited to see what this is all about.

As someone who first moved to CA two decades ago to get into film restoration and preservation, I can only imagine how painstaking the process must have been to restore 100-year old footage.

Bravely, in point of fact. But usually not until after second breakfast, or even elevenses.

But really, a lot of the inspiration for LOTR came from Professor Tolkien's own experiences in WWI, specifically at the Battle of the Somme.

Woah. It might take a while in that movie before I stop seeing Tom Hanks and start seeing Mister Rogers.
I think his hair is a little too grey. I kind of wish for this picture, they would have went with a relatively unknown actor. But that's tough when the actor has to be middle aged.
I have a hunch that Hanks will embody Mister Rogers perfectly. He won’t look exactly right and he won’t sound perfect but he’ll nail the emotion.
This. You're not going to find a ringer for Mister Rogers, and Hanks is such a terrific actor (sorry, @columbia, #freecolumbia) that he'll just nail the part.
Amusingly, Colin Hanks would be a pretty good stand in for a young Mister Rogers.

I wasn't a fan of anyone other than Ron Perlman playing that role, but damn, these posters are changing my mind.

Man, Harbour was a relative nobody in the acting world just three years ago. Who would have thought ten years ago that someone could star in a NETFLIX show and that would be their ticket to stardom and millions?

Watched Night Train to Munich and Morocco recently. Dietrich kinda sounds like the lollipop guild when singing, but I love how simple that movie is. It's pretty amazing seeing a story come across the screen like that being such a simple movie. Night Train was pretty intense and I think I need another viewing. Great stuff.

I know this is surprising, but apparently Venom really sucks.

I went to see Hell Fest at the Evergreen Drive-in last weekend. I was pleasantly surprised. Nothing ground-breaking, but a nice little slasher, the likes of which they don't often make these days.

this review is all I needed. I won't be seeing it in the theater, but am looking forward to seeing it
#Venom is like a buddy comedy in which one of the buddies has to prevent the other from biting people’s heads off, which is another way of saying I liked it.
this is also good
I’m *fascinated* with VENOM. The cast seems to all know they’re in a darker superhero movie, except Tom Hardy who is basically remaking Jim Carrey’s Liar Liar. I kinda loved watching this movie, in a Rocky Horror type of way. At one point Tom Hardy and Venom make out.

Zero interest. A Venom movie without Spider-Man, and it's created by Fox/Sony? Hard pass. I look forward to most of Marvel's assets going back to Marvel Studios.

Hopefully Dark Phoenix will be decent, but I never even saw Apocalypse.
