Jurassic Park 3 is a typical early 2000s action movie. There's not really much more to say about it than that. In the debate over which is worse Lost World or JP3, the "winner" is definitely JP3. Though to be honest, if it wasn't for those few Spielbergian touches in Lost World, it would be pretty damn neck and neck. There are so many moments in JP3 that are just simply stupid. The action is stupid, the characters are stupid, the script & dialogue are stupid, the Raptor call is stupid. Lost World had some of that also, but it was saved by a once in a lifetime director/visionary. Nothing against Joe Johnston, but he's no Spielberg. There's a reason why JP3 killed the franchise for 15 years.

On to Jurassic World.

She was young, bubbly, and hot hot hot! She basically got it for playing herself.

Loved that game. It took me a while to figure it all out when I was a kid but once I did beating it became a lot of fun.

Also, I still have nightmares about getting stuck in shallow water with Jaws in that game.

100% this. Extremely **** while playing up her “I’m just a super clumsy quirky regular girl unlike other celebrities” persona. If it wasn’t for that god awful Darren Aronofsky (and **** him along with it) that public persona might have endured.

I don't have any issue with the J-Law silver linings playbook performance in a vacuum. Obviously having the Weinstein push helped on the awards circuit, but I thought she was still good. She was good in "Winter's Bone" which as a movie I didn't really care for, but still, she has range. She just needs to continue to stay away from David O Russell movies. But yeah, that was a stacked year. If not for the Weinstein factor, I'm not sure she comes away with a win.

This might just be me pushing back on the whole "actor x just played themselves." If someone is making it look easy, that's good acting. Obviously some roles will just, on a surface-level, require more work. But that argument is precisely how we get **** like Eddie Redmayne winning over Michael Keaton ("he's basically just playing his own career!"). Leo wins an oscar because he ate raw meat and endured shitty conditions (and because of a weak field). But of the nominees, I'd have gone with Damon for The Martian. But again, the latter made it look pretty easy (sidenote: when was the last time Leo played or portrayed a "nice" character?)

Anyway, I digress. Tldr, the more demanding role does not have a direct correlation to acting ability/execution.

Excellent

I've never see that print without the movie logo in the lower right, but I like it better this way.

This looks like a straight up reboot of the first movie, and that wouldn’t be a bad thing.

Yeah I'm 100% in. Is that a young Morpheus or just a guy who sort of looks like Morpheus but isn't Laurence Fishburne for some reason?

I think about a lot of the scenes of the animatrix pretty often. Especially the sprinter pushing his body out of the matrix

The Wachowskis don't mind recasting or changing up a character when an actor either isn't available or isn't wanted. It happened with Tank, with the Oracle, and now with Morpheus. The annoying part about the Oracle was they recast her with a very similar actor instead of going a totally different direction.

Maybe but then cast a totally different type of actor. Same thing with the Oracle. You can't say that she isn't really human and her "outer shell" was destroyed but then cast another nurturing old black woman. Make it something completely different.

I thought the Oracle actress died. Thus the recast
