Well spotted, weenie. I don't think many here would've known Universal had the international distribution rights for True Lies.
Yeah not sure how this got by us

My nephew did this and I didn’t get it at all. I still don’t but that’s okay. This is one of the rare teenager TikTok things that I can get behind. Have a good time, kids.

Old.
Woof.
That about the consensus I've seen for this, but after that graphic novel (did you share it on here?), I want to see it
Yeah that was me. I enjoyed the graphic novel and the parts of the movie that stick to the novel aren't bad at all. It's just the acting is shockingly bad, even from folks that I normally like, and the added M Night stuff is so so bad.
Watched this last night, both my wife and I liked it. Haven't watched an MNS movie in a long time (Lady In The Water, I think) and this was pretty straightforward, no real twist per se. Was worth the watch on HBO Max.

Some of the sequences are sloppy for sure.

watched Warrior. I have...mixed feelings about it

The emotional payoff at the end hit and I really liked Nolte’s performance. However, there were some cheesy or lame scenes in it too. Like during Brendan’s first fight, they keep cutting to the principal. It was an odd choice.

Also, I get that Tom Hardy’s character went by his mothers maiden name but his dad went by Conlon (which is the same last name as Brendan). For allegedly the biggest MMA event ever, not one person in the world figured out that Hardy’s trainer was related to Brendan? That annoyed the hell out of me

Really enjoyed Top Gun Maverick. Great references to the original.

Fun having David Bowie singing behind Jennifer Connelly when we first meet her. Goblin King reunited!

Nolte was the best part of the movie.

Agreed

Also the first time I saw the Russian fighter I was like “heh, that guy looks like Kurt Angle”. I couldn’t believe it was actually him when I read the IMDb

At some point in his life a writing teacher told Kevin Smith to “write what you know” and holy hell did he take that advice to heart.

In for clerks 3. This looks fun too. Watched everything everywhere all at once. Family did not like it. I liked it very much.

This made me lol.

KS is an incredible story teller irl. Like I would pay my own damn money to go spend an hour in an auditorium with him telling Hollywood war stories. The giant mechanical spider from his Superman story is breathtaking in the reach of its stupidity.

That's probably not true, but it's a great yarn nonetheless.

She auctioned or donated one of her Oscar statuettes in the 70s, when she was in her 50s. I don't know that I would call that "late in life", but perhaps the poster is referring to time in Hollywood Actress Years.

* Just Googled it: She won an Oscar for playing Anne Frank, and donated the statue to the Anne Frank House Museum in 1975,

I can’t remember…has Kevin Smith done anything with any of the Marvel or DC movies of the last 15 years? I feel like he’s been involved with writing or directing some of them but can’t remember

anywho, I really hope in Clerks 3 they have Randal do a riff on super hero movies. It’s very ripe for the picking to be **** on similar to LOTR in Clerks 2

Thoughts on Godfather II?
it’s ok
aka one of the best ever. It vs Godfather I is a very interesting comparison. Godfather I is “standard” in how it’s structured but obviously does it exceptionally. II is much more atypical with how they interlace the Michael scenes with the young Vito scenes but it’s done so well. I think I give II the edge for being more risk taking

also, they wanted Clemenza to betray Michael in II, but there were issues with The actor so they replaced him with Pentangeli. While it sucks to have Clemenza die offscreen, it works very well with really the only returning characters being Michael, Kay, Tom, Fredo and Connie. Also I love Pentangeli
