Heard it was good? Same director as Bone Tomahawk. It made Guillermo del Toro's Top 10 for the year, for whatever it's worth. Definitely plan on checking it out at some point.Any thoughts on Brawl in Cellblock 99?

I thought the story went something like that Tarantino knew about the guitar (as did JJL), and she thought Russell was going to take the guitar from her, and then they'd swap it out to get smashed (Russell was not aware of the guitar). Tarantino told Russell privately to just smash it when he grabbed it, because he wanted to get a genuine reaction of horror from JJL.The act waa certainly deliberate. But do you mean it may have been malicious? That and knowing a priceless guitar was destroyed (possibly on purpose) annoys the hell out of me.
So under those circumstances, I think you could certainly consider it malicious on Tarantino's part.

Also, to echo what everybody else who's seen it has already said, Wind River was solid. Great turn from Renner. Excellent score from Nick Cave. A couple wonderful shots. A scene towards the end definitely caught me by surprise (I'm sure those who have seen know what I'm referring to). Very disturbing, but I guess not to show it would be a disservice to those intended to be impacted by it.
Also, I guess Taylor Sheridan really likes his "female federal agents who are in over their heads" characters. Can't complain though since Elizabeth Olsen is totally my celebrity crush.

loved blade runner 2049. The music, slow pace, and atmosphere work so well together. Man, can Denis Villeneuve make a movie. I can't wait for his Dune (even though it will probably bomb like this one). As much as I want that guy to make original stuff, if you want to get the Alien franchise going again, you let him make it. That would be insane.

Did we know there was going to be a Netflix prequel to The Dark Crystal?

There is not a bigger Alien fanboi than this guy. It pains me to say this, but.... let it go. Scott has ruined the IP.As much as I want that guy to make original stuff, if you want to get the Alien franchise going again, you let him make it. That would be insane.

I don't disagree with you, but my feeling is they are going to keep making these things, at least put it in this guys hands. There is not a bigger Alien fanboi than this guy. “Crocodile Dundee is back. Well, actually, he’s missing in the Outback. And the only person who might be able to find him is the loudmouthed American son no one knew he had. Introducing Danny McBride as Brian Dundee. This son of a legend is forced to channel his Aussie roots as he embarks on the ultimate adventure in the land down under.
It’s time to live up to the family name.”

I had a similar reaction. It's tough when so much of the emotional impact hinges on a complete subscription to everything that comes from the Tonya character/perspective, while the whole time you're aware that you're watching a movie biopic. Bodyguard character was hilarious.I, Tonya wasn’t bad. Really good performances all around but I didn’t find myself all that invested in the story.

I voted for the Post, but we saw Call Me By Your Name last weekend. Most definitely not for everyone, but was quite a movie watching experience.
