The best part of GWTW is the Carol Burnett parody skit.

"I saw it in the window and I just couldn't resist it."

Watching Gone With the Wind for the first time ever. My daughter picked it up from the $5 bin at Walmart and made me promise I'd watch it with her.
I'm a huge fan of Clark Gable and watch that movie every year with the old lady. I love it.

Phantom Thread is a solid slow-burn. Very restrained, with most everything simmering just below the surface. Johnny Greenwood's score is phenomenal -- I recommend downloading "House of Woodcock" in particular. This along with Blade Runner 2049 are my two good "mood movies" for the year, in that many elements of the plot seem secondary to the way in which they're presented, and you leave not dwelling as much on specific plot points as you are just sifting through whatever state-of-mind you're in.

screener or theater? I want to see this, but don't think I'll catch it in a theater and am not sure if its worth holding out for a proper HD release

The cinematography has a bit of a muted, almost classic feel to it, which fits the film as a whole rather nicely and adds positively to creating/establishing the overall atmosphere. This isn't an instance like BR2049 where it's HD or bust though. I caught it in the theater, but a screener should suffice just fine.

Planning on seeing this on Sunday. Will report back.

It is a guilty pleasure to watch LGBT/SJW folks cannibalize each other.

Uma’s story about Harvey is creepy and upsetting but unfortunately expected by now. Her Quentin stories make me think he’s the next person who’s going to go down. Also that crash footage is insane.

This article is all over the place. Conflating the crash with the #metoo movement seems not super constructive. the assault she experienced as a 16 year old also doesn't seem to fit, narratively, either. But it had to be included to credentialize the article. Without that story, this isn't meaty at all.

I dunno...this is an article about a studio forcing one of their top assets into a dangerous situation for some reason. It's not about Harvey Weinstein.

Barefoot picture of Uma. One guess as to what Tarantino is doing with that article.

He does not possess the judgment of a normal person. Which I think we knew already. This article is bad, folks.

And here's the thing...uma went through some gross stuff. But this is bad form. Piggy backing off of a movement built by broken women to tell us about the time she drove a dangerous car. Like...was this because she did an interview where it seemed like she was hiding something interesting, and then when the writer found out she wasn't, she had to uncover a different, unrelated story?

Well at least now we know why Kill Bill 3 never happened.

I’ve liked a lot of her roles but always thought she personally came off as pretentious and snobbish and generally unlikable.
her father, Robert Thurman, is a Buddhist professor of Indo-Tibetan studies at Columbia who thinks Uma is a reincarnated goddess.
Now that aspect of her personality makes a lot more sense.

I saw her father speak in Charleston around 2010. I wanted to hear his thoughts in Buddhism, but he mainly spewed (leftist) political truisms. I was annoyed.

Currently watching The Godfather Pt II. Mrs Tif's first viewing, but I've seen it a bunch of times....... and yet I completely forgot about the scene where Vito meets Clemenza.
