Just got done with Halloween (78). It's perfect. Everything about it is just perfect. The score builds the tension so well. It's just everything it needs to be.
I have said this before but I would have appreciated it more in 1978. I first watched it a few years ago and it was a slog.
It's definitely slow by modern standards. I think that's part of why I appreciate it so much. The music/score and how it's shot takes the place of all the normal blood and guts. Halloween 78 is not scary at all without the score... it takes the film to another level.

Don't get me wrong I love gore and violence, but there is something about the simplicity of the original that just works for me.

I understand your POV though and can see how people can see it that way.

Watched Beetlejuice last night, that movie always puts a smile on my face. The 4k disc is absolutely terrific.

The new League Of Their Own is filming about a mile up the road from my place today. Pics are floating around on FB, which looks like they're in a field on Steubenville Pike.

My cousin has been working on this, sounds like it could be pretty cool

If they make it its own thing and forget about the movie entirely it could be a fun show. Hopefully they watched the original pilot for what not to do.

and apparently snagging a pic of the Peaches bus caused a security guard to get out of his car like I was attempting to take pics of a government top secret testing area.

Easy there, chief. I just want a pic of a bus from 200 ft away to send to my sister.

Good lord, this is bad. I loved the film, some great performances. It's one of the few appearances in which Rosie isn't intolerable.

If I were an Immortal seeking The Prize, ALOTO would be my holy ground. Don't f**k about with this.

I'm feeling a little, ah, anxious if you know what I mean. It's been about six hundred years after all. I wonder where a guy, an everyday Joe like myself, can find a little action...

Haha, I completely forget everytime I watch with the kids how horny he is. There's some real good lines throughout

Oh, good. I'm a sucker for anything set in the 1940s, and a series makes it even better...more character development, better arcs, etc.

There's been some apparent Indy 5 rumors confirmed today about the 40s
sounds like time travel will be a part of the movie and I couldn't be happier

old Indy fights a Nazi (Mads) who traveled from 40s to 60s, I could get down with that

You mostly lost me at Indy 5 but ...
that sounds like Spielberg/Lucasfilm going back to the Nazi well because they can't think of another villain for Indy. Logan was great without resorting to time travel. Mangold can handle this. But that seems silly.

All of the Indy movies are silly, just a matter of what tone goes with that silliness. I agree with your point too

Agreed. More than once I've defended the refrigerator scene on this board. I'm not opposed to silliness. Maybe silly isn't the word. Lazy might work better for that spoilered stuff.
