Is Vincent Kartheiser perfectly cast in The Social Dilemma?

The answer is yes.
Is he the dude in the AI room with different colored shirts?
Yes. He was a smarmy WASPish ad exec on Mad Men, and the smarmy double dealing businessman on Das Boot (TV Series).
I couldn't get through the documentary because of how bad those parts were. The entire time we just made fun of it because it was Pete.

They are a bit cringey (I still have about 20 minutes left to watch), and probably unnecessary. The interview parts are fascinating. When the people who created all of this bullshit are concerned about its use/abuse, shouldn't we be concerned as well?

Kinda bummed about West Side Story, but I get it. Spielberg has wanted to do a full on Busby Berkley style musical his entire career, and Arianna Debose (The Bullet from Hamilton) is playing Maria, the Rita Moreno character. So it's shaping up to be pretty good.

Have they postponed In The Heights yet?

Yeah that was supposed to be this past June. I believe they moved it to June 2021.

No clue why 4 & 5 are included.

Halloween 4 is a solid slasher.

Halloween III is the best of the franchise aside from the original.

4 and 5 are obviously better than Curse, H20, Resurrection, but I'm not a huge fan. I'd actually watch III over either of those. The whole niece storyline doesn't do much for me.

I thought Halloween 2018 was solid.

Yeah for sure. I'd go Halloween (78), Halloween 2 (81), Halloween (2018), Halloween III, Halloween 4, Halloween 5, H20, Curse, Resurrection. I don't count the Rob Zombie bs.

Halloween (78), Halloween 2 (81), Halloween (2018) are really the only 3 that matter. Halloween III is not bad because it's different from the others I guess.

The rest are all garbage pretty much. I still watch them all at Halloween time though.

Aside from the score, I actually like Halloween H20.

It has all the tropes of a late 90s slasher. If you like that era of horror, you should dig H20.

Can Benioff and Weiss do anything non-controversial? Remember their "what if the Confederacy had won" alternate history show that got axed? And now this:
Republican senators have sent a letter to Netflix chief content officer and co-CEO Ted Sarandos pushing back against the streaming service’s upcoming series “The Three-Body Problem.” Netflix announced September 1 that “Game of Thrones” creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss are adapting Liu Cixin’s science-fiction trilogy “The Three-Body Problem” for the streamer with the help of “The Terror: Infamy” writer Alexander Woo and executive producers Rian Johnson and Rosamund Pike. The letter claims that by producing the series Netflix is “normalizing” the imprisonment of Uighur Muslims in China’s Xinjiang province.

When asked in 2019 about imprisoning Muslims in Xinjiang, Liu Cixin responded, “Would you rather that they be hacking away at bodies at train stations and schools in terrorist attacks? If anything, the government is helping their economy and trying to lift them out of poverty.”

Those are some of the most acclaimed scifi books as of recently. I don't blame them for it and I hope they get made.

@eddy : Family movie night last night was Labyrinth. Daughter enjoyed it, and I got a kick out of her telling me that the Goblin King sounded like the David Bowie.

‘Borat’ Sequel Acquired By Amazon Studios; Sacha Baron Cohen Film Will Bow On Prime Video Right Before Election Day

Baron Cohen and cohorts flew to various parts of the U.S. and internationally to shoot the film. As he did on the first Borat, the follow-up film Brüno, and his Showtime summer series Who Is America, Baron Cohen risked his life multiple times to shoot the scenes in this film. Indeed, I’m told by sources that he had to wear a bulletproof vest on two different shooting days and on many days, there were risky and dangerous scenarios in shooting. Baron Cohen managed to do a good job keeping the film under wraps, though word of it has leaked a bit after it wrapped and CAA Media Finance showed it to buyers and set the distribution deal.

***likely tif question alert***

Open to anyone with knowledge, but I get the sense that tif already has bead on this...what's the deal with the Razzies/Golden Raspberry Awards...? Does it actually represent the worst of the year? Do you find a legit correlation between these awards and your (royal your) perception of reality? Is there any "respect" (I guess) for what it is they put together or is it just a quick gag through and through...?
