Watched Holes on Disney. Good movie, great book.

Tried watching My Scientology Movie documentary and the Scientology stuff was interesting, but the director pretty much wanted to be the star of the show and was pretty annoying. Did not make it through.

Hit Dependable Drive in yesterday. Really wanted to hit the Gen X Double Feature of Breakfast Club and 16 Candles but it was my daughter's birthday so we went with Willie Wonka and Beetle Juice. Somehow I had managed not to have seen either one before.

Wonka in particular would have been improved with some mind altering substances.

Did Beetlejuice on the outside screen this week. Can confirm these substances works for that too!

The Mask is way darker than I remember it being. Also push-up-bra told me lies about Cameron Diaz. She is still stunning in her debut.

I've been thinking about watching this with the kids as they loved ace and dumb & dumber.

Cable Guy was same way for me. Carrey was so good at nailing those comically dark roles

That was my thought. It’s just slightly out of their wheel house. Pirates of the Caribbean was the fall back went over much better. I’d say watch it again without the kids then decide.

Judging from what I remember, I'm not sure I could watch it twice after not seeing it since it came out. Maybe though.

I must have been pretty hammered the other night, because a package with ang Lee 4k hulk came in the mail today. No idea why I got that, but now I'm intrigued to see how it holds up.

Wandering around the paddock at the 1998 Long Beach GP, I physically bumped into her in the pro-celeb race area. Post-Mask, pre-Mary; that was a good day.

I'll have to try again, I didn't care for getting actors to redo some of the talks and stuff like that.

Watched Karate Kid with my 4 and 6 year old Friday night. Saturday they were practicing the crane kick against their friend in the back yard. I have succeeded as a father.

I’m going to assume you watched the Jaden Smith version just cause it makes me chuckle.

The original still has one of the best if not the best musical montages in any movie with "Your the best around" going on during the tournament.

Pretty sure my daughter is on her third or fourth round of listening to the Hamilton soundtrack, judging by what I'm hearing downstairs right now.

Ha, my boys walk around the house saying:

Brrrah brraaah! I am Hercules Mulligan
Up in it, lovin’ it, yes I heard ya mother said “Come again?”

I probably hear it about 30 times a day now.

Given that, I would've expected you to be more hip to my "everything is legal in New Jersey" joke the other day. ;)

My kids were so upset with me by the end of the weekend. Kept singing this tune and it was not pretty.

Birds of Prey is apparently good.
‘Birds of Prey’ opens to #1 with terrible $33.3M, the lowest opening ever for a DCEU film
The marketing was absolutely terrible. It looks like a direct sequel to a really terrible movie that nobody liked. Why would anybody go see that? And when you're looking at a marquee, nobody knows what "Birds of Prey" is. It sounds like a Disney nature doc.

They are renaming it "Harley Quinn: Birds of Prey" but it's probably too little too late now.
The original full title was Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn), which wasn't helping matters either. Edge of Tomorrow is the last major release I can remember getting a title change while in theaters. Never a good sign.

Came from Netflix. Nothing good about the film, and I was a comic book guy.

Bad writing, plot points jump, bad fighting. Music was okay I suppose. Acting was bad, the little girl should never get another job, Mary Whatsherface phoned it in, Rosey Perez is always bad, O'Bewan joined Mary on the phone.

Punisher varieties and Ghost Rider were probably my favorites. But we are also talking 80s, early 90s.

That movie had the most disorienting flashback sequences, it was tough to get through.
