I also liked Garfield as Spider-Man and thought he had great chemistry with Stone, who was excellent as always, but that second movie was just horrible. Venom did extremely well at the box office and I'm sure there's plenty of people who want to see him go up against Spider-Man, but if Sony is truly willing to end the MCU partnership there's going to be a huge backlash against them. Disney could ask for 100% of Spider-Man movie profits and people would still hate Sony. Taking Spider-Man out of the MCU and moving him to a live action Sonyverse would essentially be rebooting the character again. Aside from FFH taking place in 2023, without the MCU and Disney's involvement there's no Avengers, no Snap, no Happy, no one that he's interacted with over the last five movies, no Tony Stark designed suit, etc. They've got nothing but Tom Holland as Spider-Man.
In non-shitty Marvel related movie opinions, Deadpool 2 was **** awesome. I think it was better than the first. Humor was more on point, good story, character growth for DP (and others), Cable was great, action was great, etc. And to top it all off, Yukio was adorable. Thought her and NTW were great as a couple. There better be more Deadpool or else then I'll be pissed at Disney.

I'll see a Deadpool 3 either way; but I found DP2 to be less enjoyable because of the larger roles of the rest of the comic book characters. It's starting to trend towards being just more super hero fodder. The only movies I've been able to actually enjoy in this genre are Nolan's Batman, Iron Man, and Deadpool. Mostly loners that don't interact much with the rest of the spandex crowd.

this is going to be a great IMAX watch

This is generally how I intersect with the genre as well. I think that's for three easons. The only movies I've been able to actually enjoy in this genre are Nolan's Batman, Iron Man, and Deadpool. Mostly loners that don't interact much with the rest of the spandex crowd.
1) Batman is not a super. He's a mega-rich ninja.
2) Iron Man is in a similar mold, in that he does not have any special super powers, but derives his status through his intellect.
3) Deadpool is the most self-aware super and is fully aware of how ridiculous the whole idea is, and jokes about it with the audience.

That is exactly on point.

Three excellent points. While I am a fan of the superhero genre, I definitely gravitate toward those three (especially Batman) for those reasons.

I've watched every Batman thing since the 80s and I can't drum up any interest in the character except the one cartoon was ok. The Ledger Joker was good but I don't care even for the Nolan movies as a whole. The Marvel Universe is what I'd been waiting for and it's awesome. It's all about your superpower friends showing up just in time that got me as a kid and now apparently.
But damn Deadpool 2 was awesome. Always loved Cable and he was cast perfect. And always liked Domino and the depiction of her powers was really fun and I fell in love with Zazie Beetz who I don't think I'd ever seen before
What I really want is a good Gambit movie. Is Luke Perry still working? ( i see they cancelled the one they were supposed to do )

That is not where I thought they were going at the end of the trailer. Hopefully they do go there...

I just finished the Russell Crowe as Ailes version (miniseries on Showtime) called the Loudest Voice. It was pretty good, but the focus was on the rise of Fox News and ended with the Gretchen Carlson lawsuit that brought all of the other victims forward.
Naomi Watts played Carlson there, it looks like Nicole Kidman plays her in Bombshell. What's with Aussies playing Carlson?
And Charlize Theron is unrecognizable as Megyn Kelly (but looks just like her).
John Lithgow vs. Crowe as Roger Ailes
Sienna Miller vs. Connie Britton as Beth Ailes
Pretty cool to see two different projects on a similar event.

That was my takeaway. I knew the 'twist' before I clicked the video, and I still didn't believe that it was Theron. And Charlize Theron is unrecognizable as Megyn Kelly (but looks just like her).
