Watched Ghost over the weekend. What a ridiculous movie. I liked it and it was pretty original, but it was completely different than what I thought it was going to be. I didn't find it to be much of a romantic movie at all and I'd be pissed if I spent all that time making a pot and Swayze came down at 2AM and ruined it, but then again, he can get away with that sort of thing. I can't believe all the Awards noms/wins this thing go, but I guess 1990.
It's been a long time since I've seen it but the scenes where the "demons" take the souls of the dead people and take them to hell scared the absolute **** out of me when I was a kid

Netflix has a Sam Cooke documentary out. It's interesting, but it has a little bias. For those who don't know, Cooke was killed in a seedy hotel room in the Watts area of L.A. The documentary plays up the conspiracy angle, like Allen Klein (yes, the same one that the Rolling Stones and Beatles had issues with) wanted him killed to control of his publishing rights or the FBI didn't like how outspoken he was. The documentary never mentions his first wife, who died in a car wreck in 1959, but it spent a great deal of time on the death of his son and how it affected his disposition etc. I would think a spouse dying would deserve mention...unless it's the second wife's family commissioning the documentary. Also it never mentions the four kids he had out of wedlock (he died at 33, so he was a busy guy).

That being said, Sam Cooke was a sensational talent. I didn't know he wrote most of his big songs, which was rare for the time in pop music/R&B.

that's what my wife said too and they still are creepy. I think they used sounds of kids screaming for that.

To this day the thing that creeped me out the most in Blair Witch Project was the overnight camping scene when the kids were heard in the woods and then the tent started getting jostled and they ran away yelling "WHAT THE **** IS THAT?!"

Molly’s Game : Too long. Idris Elba acts his ass off. The others are pretty darn bad. Cut 30-45mins off and it’s a fun watch. Other than that, skip.

There’s was just too much “establishing she’s a good person at heart.” Done with the whole rehashing not giving people’s names up over and over again. After the 27th time we get it, she has some morals, but not enough to not take advantage of people with gambling problems.

Please don't ever take 30-45 minutes of Chastain out of a movie.

I think a picture is emerging that PB is a 90-minute viewer in a 2-hour movie world.

Wolf of Wall Street is 9 hours long and I find it to be enjoyable.

Had to watch Kramer v. Kramer for a school project. I know it was 1979, and it was a good movie, but it's hard to believe it got the accolades it did. Streep was in it for about 8 minutes, cried for 7 of them. Boom, have an Oscar.

That's probably because you break it up into 4 parts and watch them separately.

Watched A Star Is Born. That is a very good movie, but not knowing anything about it, it went a completely different way for me.
The first half of the movie was incredible, but man, was the 2nd half a downer. This was an incredibly sad movie. It was such a bummer that it completely took me out of the movie. I want a version of this movie where they both give up everything and are just happy like that first song on stage. I don't care if the rest of the movie is them playing county fairs, I wanted her to help him and him listen and vice versa. I really hated that she gave up the tour to be with him and he couldn't take that.

Also, I thought LaLa Land did this movie much better.

Well here’s a headline I didn’t expect to read today:

Chris Hemsworth to Play Hulk Hogan in Biopic Directed by Todd Phillips
https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat- ... ic-1186126

And Bischoff is a producer which means it’ll be the hilariously fictionalized myth of Hogan, not the real life story. Can’t wait to see them recreate Hogan body slamming the 800 pound 9 foot Andre in front of 200,000 people at Mania 3.

It will be like a "83 Weeks presents the Story of Hulk Hogan" version.

Just finished Some Like it Hot

Funnier than I expected. Obviously the plot isn't exactly PC but the humor holds up pretty well

And Marilyn Monroe was a **** babe. I've seen photos before but never videos, at least none I can remember. Damn she's spicy

Finally watched the new ghostbusters movie. Not as bad as everyone made it out to be. However the whole fighting ghosts with proton whip beams wasn’t good IMO. And going to the other side was not needed.

Still it wasn’t nearly as bad as it was made out to be.

The red letter media review of the new Ghostbusters is excellent.

I watched this in high school and remember enjoying it. Also came to the same *ahem* conclusion about MM.

45 mins of my life that I won’t get back. They outlined why it wasn’t good in the most disjointed way possible.

I didn’t say the movie was good but it wasn’t Monkey Bone levels of bad
