Kingsman 2 was good, but about 30 minutes too long.

Watched “Love the Coopers” last night. Made me want to kill myself. Pained my way through it because I thought my wife was enjoying it when in reality she fell asleep about 15 minutes into the movie and I was actually suffering alone.

Ok Horror fans, I was flipping through the channels and came across “The House on Skull Mountain” from 1974.

Wow, if this hasn’t been covered by MST3K, it needs to be. Blaxploitation film with Victor French in the lead role. Lots of “jive” and a good dose of voodoo.

What more can you ask for?

Really enjoyed the adaptation of Man Called Ove. Yes, a little sappy, but who doesn't enjoy a little sap during the holidays? (And the book is good too).

Watched two not-recent movies last night...

I Love You Phillip Morris - which was really quite enjoyable, its dark humor was rather interesting...

Unknown Caller - truly one of the worst movies I have ever seen. The script, the acting, the premise, the execution...it was all laughably bad. There was nothing good about it, outside of the two seconds you see that chick in the shower...with about 90 minutes left in her life and daughter's life, while locked in a house where every move is being watched and there is a bomb underneath it, she needs to shower...yeah...shower...horrific movie...

The Foreigner (Jackie Chan) was quite enjoyable.
I enjoyed it as well. I think it would’ve made sense to make it 20+ years ago, when the IRA were still a thing, but it was pretty good. Liked seeing Pierce Brosnan with his native Irish brogue.

I watched a pretty good film the other night: “Holy Rollers”

It’s Jesse Eisenberg (whom I’m indifferent to) as an Hasidic dude, who gets sucked up into smuggling ecstasy for the mob.

Watching The Godfather on cable, with commercials, has got to be brutal.

Anyone hear anything about Rangos giant Cinema yet?
Went last night. The screen and sound are equally incredible. Just an amazing way to view a movie. I just wish they had done some modifications to the seating. It’s still the same old extremely vertical seating structure with zero leg room, zero recline, and ya sure as hell better not have to use the bathroom during a movie. I’ll definitely see a movie there again, but my go to theater remains Century Square Luxury Cinemas.
I agree with this. Best a/v experience in the region for sure.

I was very impressed with the concessions prices. Everything seemed to be a few dollars cheaper than a "normal" theater. I'm not sure if it was because it was opening night, but they were selling beer for $5 and wine and cocktails for $8. The one guy selling it even made up a batch of warm "hoth spiked apple cider" that had bourbon in it.

Anyone ever been to the AMC CLASSIC South Pike 10 in Sarver? Only other reason I've seen to go to Lernerville is for the race track. My parents gave us an AMC gift card for Christmas and the nearest two are the Waterfront 22 which is okay but a pain to get to from Allison Park, or the one in Sarver which is technically farther away but might be worth it if it isn't a dump.

Killing of a Sacred Deer was weird. The plot was sort of like Saw, but done in a way that sort of removes how people would react to the situation in real life. I guess I just don't understand what the purpose of making a move like that is.

Late to the game, but watched Get Out last night.

What a great thriller. Really built the suspense and didn't feel a need to be exceedingly gory. Without trying to blaspheme, it was Hitchcock-ian in it's delivery.
