These live action adaptations should not work yet Jungle Book was fantastic. Cinderella was also really good. I haven't seen Pete's Dragon but the reviews were mostly solid. This looks fantastic. I do have to say that Maleficent was dog ****, though. Hopefully they learned their lesson there.

I'm sure the adaptations will get old soon once we start getting Lion King, Dumbo, Sword in the Stone, Mulan, Pinocchio, etc. (these are all currently in development).

Pete's Dragon was great! Pretty much the ultimate family movie of 2016. I loved it and agree with Jungle Book and Cinderella. Maleficent made me want to tip over the TV and cut it up with a chainsaw.

I don't really see how the animal one would work. Pete's Dragon makes sense, because dragons aren't a thing. Same with 'beast'. But lions and elephants are totally real things.

Then again, Jungle Book was apparently good.

The Christopher Walken King Louie song and dance scene was one of the strangest most amazing things I've seen in the movies.

The David Lynch version is in my top 10 popcorn porn sci-fi wheelhouse.
I'm excited, but have some reservations....

Hopefully it's better than that mediocre SyFy miniseries from a while back.

I cannot imagine any adaptation of that material amounting to 1/10 the wackiness set forth in the documentary Jodorowsky's Dune.

When I think about movies that could have been and after watching that doc; that has to be tops. It would be incredible.

I'm excited for this iteration of dune. It may be a trilogy.

The Lynch take is such a stylezed piece of beauty. I'm also excited, but will have to force myself to not make any comparisons.

we couldn't make it through the jungle book. the voices were creepy as hell, way too human, and the child actor is annoying.

If not for anything else, the scifi channel fiasco helped temper my expectations of this. That being said, getting the public to accept the story any deeper than "hurr derr what is this? Tremors in space?" Will always concern me.

Same. Just read the first two books, though. We'll see if they are able to adapt it well to film.

I would respectfully disagree with Mr columbia's interpretation of the David Lynch Dune adaptation, and I shall leave it at that.

LEGO Batman looks like an absolute hoot. Thumbs up to any movie of this nature that uses Mötley Crüe in their advertising.

I just had the movie Split, which i really wanted to see, spoiled. I now simultaneously wish i would have immediately seen it when it came out and have it completely ruined so i wont see it anytime soon. Very exciting stuff though.

Watched Temple of Doom with the kids. My son loved it to death (6 yrs old), my daughters went Kate Capshaw through it. Had my youngest daughter (8 year old) hiding her face in my chest half the time. Good Times. :)

Awesome! Doom was always my favorite and the one I have yet to show to my kids. I guess they're probably ready.
