Officer who fatally shot Tamir Rice hired as a cop again
https://nypost.com/2018/10/05/officer-w ... cop-again/

He was fired from a department for unfitness for duty and then hired by Cleveland, where he killed a 12-year-old boy with a pellet gun within two second of arriving on scene. Why of course he deserves another chance to carry a gun for a living. [/sarcasm]

Yet more evidence that police have no interest in weeding out bad cops. They care about protecting their jobs and covering for each other.
This particular incident is probably the first one I reference any time I'm unfortunate enough to get into it about police. This one really gets my blood boiling.

New York cop charged with intoxication, assaulting Baltimore police officers at Inner Harbor hotel
I have the same reaction to this as I do when I hear about gang-bangers killing each other.

Former Baltimore police sergeant who planted gun in 2014 case pleads guilty
https://www.wbaltv.com/article/keith-gl ... y/27682343

Gladstone planted a BB gun in order to provide justification for another officer (who already went to prison in 2018 for robbery, racketeering, and civil-rights charges) running over an arrestee with his car. As part of his plea, Gladstone also admitted that he told a witness to lie about the event. Four other officers involved in the case in which the gun was planted remain on suspension.

Denver deputy among 2 charged with federal drug trafficking
https://www.thedenverchannel.com/news/c ... rafficking
DENVER — One of two suspects charged with federal drug trafficking crimes is a Denver sheriff’s deputy, according to a release Wednesday from the Department of Justice.

Deputy Sylvia Montoya, 46, and Timothy Spikes, 36, both from Denver, were charged Tuesday with drug trafficking crimes for allegedly selling crack cocaine, methamphetamine, and heroin from a Lakewood apartment unit.

Federal prosecutors said Montoya and Spikes maintained the Lakewood apartment, located at 3966 South Wadsworth Blvd. Apartment 201, to distribute drugs.

I wonder how many people that deputy has arrested for drug-related offenses.

The punk on the left "punches" like a b***h, which explains why he's a CO/cop/whatever. I'm not saying that most LEO's are Little Napoleons (there's no data that I'm aware of), but they're most definitely out there in not small numbers. Too many of these guys love the protection the badge gives them.

He'll end up getting his. I did an excavation project inside of Somerset SCI years ago. One of the CO's was a little guy, but a real d**k to the inmates. Some years later he got drunk and got pulled over... apparently he ended up pistol-whipping the cop somehow. Can't imagine his time went real smooth, especially if the other inmates found out he'd been a CO.

Judging by the fact that he had the presence of mind to deactivate his body cam, I'm going to go ahead and say 'yes' to this.

A Tow Truck Driver Repossessed an NYPD Officer's Car. Then, He Ended up in Handcuffs.
https://www.ny1.com/nyc/all-boroughs/ne ... ten-island
Jose Rodriguez has been a repo man for three years.

"It gets crazy sometimes," he said.

But he said he experienced nothing as crazy as what happened May 30, when he was driving near the 120th Precinct stationhouse and came across a Nissan Maxima wanted by the bank because of three missed payments.

He said he logged the Maxima into his tracking system, lifted it onto his tow truck and was about to walk into the stationhouse to notify police when a green pickup pulled in front of him.

"I was stopped by one officer over there, saying, 'Hey, that's a police officer's car,' with a police sergeant that was off-duty that I didn't know — with him completely blocking me in. He told me, what I'm doing? 'You got to drop the car,'" Rodriguez recalled, standing near the scene of the incident.

Rodriguez said the Nissan's owner showed up, offering to make his back payments.

But the repo man said he told them it wasn't that easy: once a car is on the tow truck and logged in, it's the bank's property.

Rodriguez said police then surrounded him, accused him of auto theft, and arrested him for possession of stolen property—a felony.

Watch these two videos as police in Phoenix point their guns at a couple (accompanied by their two children) in an SUV and shout that "I'm m gonna f**king put a cap right in your head!” and “You’re gonna get f**king shot in the head!”

Ask yourself, what crime was being alleged to garner this level of a response from the police. Murder? Carjacking? Made a guess?
It was shoplifting.

https://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/news/vi ... t-11311529
Video of a May 29 encounter with Phoenix police near 36th and Roosevelt streets shows several Phoenix officers surrounding the parked car of 22-year-old Dravon Ames and his pregnant fiancée, 24-year-old Iesha Harper. In the video, officers can be heard screaming and cursing at the couple, who also have two young children in the car, to "put your **** hands up."

One officer can be seen pointing a gun at the car with children inside, while another can be heard saying, "You're gonna **** get shot!" At one point, an officer slams Ames' face against a police car, then kicks his legs apart. Meanwhile, another officer attempts to yank Harper's 2-year-old daughter out of her arms.

Ames told Phoenix New Times he had just pulled into the parking lot of an apartment complex to drop off his kids with a babysitter when Phoenix police officers surrounded the car and told them to get out. Ames alleges that Phoenix police approached him because, unbeknownst to him, his daughter had walked out of the nearby Family Dollar holding a doll from the store.

Ames says someone at the store told an officer on security detail that his daughter had stolen from the store, and that's why police approached him in the parking lot. He also said that despite being detained in the back of police vehicles, both he and Harper were not arrested or ticketed. He says they were released without charges after a lieutenant came and defused the situation.

Released body worn camera footage shows alleged illegal arrest made by BPD Sergeant
https://www.wmar2news.com/news/region/b ... by-bpd-sgt

BALTIMORE — Baltimore Police released the body worn camera footage of Sergeant Ethan Newberg from an incident on May 30th. Police say Lee Dotson passed a criticism of the officer as he was arresting someone and making him sit on a wet curb. Dotson was walking away when Newberg chased. Then the younger officer with Newberg also charged Dotson, tackling him — knee in his back. The other view from that officer's body worn camera shows him pointing his weapon at the man they originally stopped...which qualifies as use of force. Once things calm down and more officers make the scene on Ashton Street in Southwest Baltimore — Newberg wasn't done chastising the man who criticized him. “He is under arrest,” Newberg yelled at the other officers, “For what? For what? What am I under arrest for?” you hear Dotson ask, “Just go to jail and take your charge like a man…Take your charge!” Newberg fired back. “What am I going to jail for?” Dotson again asked. “Because you don't know how to act!” yelled Newberg. Dotson was charged with disorderly and sent to central booking. Once this video was seen by prosecutors, the charge was dropped. Commissioner Michael Harrison called it part of a horrible culture and is interested to see how pervasive it is in the department. Newberg has since been charged with misconduct, false imprisonment and assault; he is suspended without pay.

High school bully pig.

At the end he pushes the other cop, tells him to leave and never tell him how to do his job again. Guess what, pig... a lot of people are telling you how now.

Floridians Are Suing a Cop Fired for Planting Drugs in Their Vehicles
https://theappeal.org/floridians-are-su ... -vehicles/
In October 2017, Derek Benefield was driving in the Florida Panhandle’s Jackson County when he was pulled over for allegedly swerving into the opposite lane. Once at the car, sheriff’s deputy Zachary Wester claimed to smell marijuana and conducted a search of the vehicle, which, he reported, turned up methamphetamine and marijuana. Despite insisting the drugs weren’t his, Benefield was arrested, charged $1,100 in fines and court fees, and sentenced to one year in county jail.*

Benefield was seven months into his sentence when, in September 2018, the state attorney’s office dropped his case and those of 118 others. Largely thanks to the diligence of one assistant state attorney, Wester was suspected of routinely planting drugs during traffic stops over his two years in the department.
