Video of teen’s head-slam arrest leads to criminal charges against 3 Broward deputies

https://www.miamiherald.com/news/local/ ... 55832.html
Three Broward Sheriff’s deputies have been charged for their roles in the violent arrest in April of a black high-school freshman, who was pepper-sprayed, punched and slammed head first into the asphalt of a McDonald’s parking lot in Tamarac.

The rough takedown of 15-year-old DeLucca Rolle was captured on cellphone video and sparked near-immediate backlash, prompting online outrage from elected officials and celebrities like NBA star LeBron James, Miami Dolphins player Kenny Stills and NBA coach Steve Kerr. The video was viewed more than 11 million times by April 25.

Broward State Attorney Mike Satz announced Wednesday that charges were filed against Sgt. Gregory LaCerra and deputies Christopher Krickovich and Ralph Mackey.

LaCerra, 51, was charged with two counts of battery for spraying Rolle in the face with pepper spray and throwing him down. He was also charged with one count of falsifying records and one count of conspiracy to falsify “the description of the circumstances of the juvenile’s arrest,” the Broward State Attorney’s Office said.

Krickovich, 29, is facing two counts of battery for slamming Rolle’s face to the pavement and punching him in the head. Krickovich was also charged with two counts of falsifying records and a single count of conspiracy to falsify records.

Mackey was not charged in the rough arrest, but he faces one count of falsifying records and another count of conspiracy to falsify records.
So they not only slammed the teen's head into the concrete, they lied about it and conspired to lie about it in the police report.

Undercover Michigan State Police cops blow through stop sign, get hit by another car, and then promptly arrest the driver of the other car:

Apparently, it's illegal to be in a car accident where a cop is 100% at fault.

Court Upholds Conviction Of Cop Who Threatened, Beat, Tased, And Arrested A Man For Complaining About Being Beaten By Him Earlier
https://www.techdirt.com/articles/20190 ... lier.shtml

The United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit said that "[T]he string of horrors Officer William Dukes Jr. paraded on Jeffrey Littlepage after a simple traffic stop has no place in our society." Those horrors include:
Dukes soon got wind of Littlepage’s additional calls, and he hatched a plan to respond. He instructed the Providence dispatcher to call Littlepage and tell him that he could come down to the police station and complain to a supervisor, even though a supervisor was not on duty that night. Littlepage suspected this was “a trap” and instead asked if the supervisor could come to his house. Id. at 1024. The dispatcher said no but nevertheless asked Littlepage for his address. After confirming that no one would come and “harass” or “arrest” him, Littlepage complied. Id. at 1025. He then went to bed for the night.

But Littlepage’s sleep was cut short when Dukes showed up at his house, banged on his door until he answered, and said, “Get your clothes on. You’re under arrest.” Id. at 1026. Retreating back into his home, Littlepage told Dukes he was not going to “go[] to jail for something [he] didn’t do.” Id.

Dukes followed Littlepage into his house, and things quickly escalated. In the ensuing melee (captured on Dukes’s body camera), Dukes shot Littlepage twice with a taser, sprayed him in the face with pepper spray, punched him in the nose (thereby breaking it), and hit him with his baton multiple times. Next, Dukes handcuffed Littlepage. Once they were outside, Dukes told the responding EMT that “he hadn’t been in a good fight like this in a long while.” R. 83, Pg. ID 1152, 1156. Littlepage went to the hospital to recover, at which point Dukes issued him citations for (1) harassing communications, (2) resisting arrest, (3) assaulting a police officer, and (4) criminal mischief (for allowing his broken nose—courtesy of Dukes—to bleed on Dukes’s uniform)

Another situation where I would be fine with a public execution, as the world would be a better place without him. He would also be required to wear his uniform. His sole purpose for the rest of his life would be to serve as an example to others.

Los Angeles Sex Crimes Detective Pleads Guilty to Molesting Teen Whose Sex Assault Case He Was Investigating
https://ktla.com/2019/07/10/l-a-county- ... stigating/
A former Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department detective pleaded guilty to child molestation involving a teenager whose sexual assault case he was investigating, authorities said Wednesday.

Neil David Kimball, 46, of Agoura, pleaded guilty to a lewd act with a child and unlawful sexual intercourse, the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office said.

The former detective was initially charged with forcible rape against a minor 14 years or older while the victim was tied or bound, as well as witness intimidation by threat of force, the DA said.

While working as a detective with the Special Victims Bureau for sex crimes in 2017, he met with a 15-year-old when she reported being a victim of sexual assault.

“While investigating that case, Kimball befriended the victim and sexually assaulted her,” the DA’s office said in a news release.

This Cop Is Getting $2,500 a Month Because Killing an Unarmed Man in a Hotel Hallway Gave Him PTSD
https://reason.com/2019/07/11/this-cop- ... -him-ptsd/

Remember the Arizona cop who in 2017 shot and killed an unarmed man who was literally crawling and begging for his life in a hotel hallway?
An Arizona cop acquitted of murder in 2017 for killing a man crawling on his knees, begging for his life, in a hotel hallway, was temporarily rehired by the city he worked for so that he could claim a disability pension and file for a medical retirement that will pay him more than $2,500 a month for the rest of his life.

. . .

A jury might have decided not to convict Brailsford, but the Mesa Police Department fired him after the shooting for violations of department policy. That turned out not to be the end of Brailsford's career in Mesa. ABC15 in Arizona reports that Brailsford appealed his termination and arranged for a special deal with the city to be rehired temporarily so that he could apply for a disability pension and retire for medical reasons.

Here's the kicker: The justification for Brailsford's medical disability and retirement is a claim that he has Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) from shooting and killing Shaver and the resulting prosecution, one of Brailsford's lawyers told ABC15. This medical condition qualifies him for a monthly pension check of $2,569.21 for the rest of his life, which the taxpayers of Mesa are on the hook for. Brailsford is currently 28 years old. Furthermore, the City of Mesa agreed to spend up to $3 million to help Brailsford defend himself and pay lawsuit settlements.

Who knew that murdering an unarmed man could be so profitable?

No, I haven't, but it's a standard typical example of police engaging in egregious and illegal behavior and barely getting their wrists slapped.

I had a really difficult time with this story....I watched the video and it sat with me for a long time. Brailsford is an utter piece of human garbage and I hope he gets what's coming to him some day.

Police: Body cam shows Atlanta officer stealing from murder victim
http://www.fox5atlanta.com/news/apd-bod ... der-victim
The Atlanta Police Department released a 130-page report along with body camera video revealing why an officer was fired this week.

According to APD Chief Erika Shields, Officer Keisha Richburg mishandled the belongings of a victim while responding to a shooting in Atlanta on June 19.

The report said Richburg stole $500 in cash out of the wallet of a shooting victim who later died. She was supposed to take his wallet, money, and phone to the hospital for his family.

And surprise, surprise, the police reports were a pack of lies with multiple false statements. Did the cops get any discipline for attacking a man and falsifying police reports? Of course not.

NJ Cop who Beat Black Suspect "Like he Owed me Money" gets 2.5 Years in Prison
https://newsmaven.io/pinacnews/cops-in- ... c7WJUmPhQ/
A New Jersey cop is headed to federal prison for 2.5 years after admitting he beat and robbed suspects and innocent citizens.
He then sent text messages, bragging to fellow officers about his crimes.
...
The former disgraced officer admitted he and several other officers involved in the conspiracy stopped and searched vehicles without justification to steal cash and valuables from drivers and passengers.
While working for the Paterson Police Department, officer Toledo also stopped and searched citizens on the street and stole their money.
He also stole money from people he arrested.
He and several other officers would cover up their crimes by filing false police reports against civilians and suspects.
In one incident, Toledo confessed he and officer Eudy Ramos took $1,000 from a suspect they arrested and split the money.
Later, the officers filed a police report omitting the fact any money was taken.
...
Toledo also "routinely used unreasonable and excessive force" injuring people on the job, according to U.S. Attorney Craig Carpenito.
"I've been borderline blacking out when I catch these n-----s," Toledo texted Bustios, recalling an incident where he chased a black juvenile, took him to the ground and punched him several times.
"I beat that n----r like he owed me money."

From a 1000ft overhead view it's hard to feel bad forn cop being shot by a criminal when the cop is pretending to be a criminal and engaging in criminal activity. Maybe state actors shouldn't be engaging in drug deals, call me crazy.

Cypress Beach police detective Scott Turner was placed on administrative leave pending an investigation into accusations that the officer threatened misuse of authority.

Neighbors, who tired of Turner's dog barking at night, say they forcefully requested that he take the dog indoors. Afterward, witness accounts describe Scott Turner as angrily declaring that he was a policeman, and threatening to have their cars towed.

Chief Howard Hyde would not comment on the allegations, but said that corruption will not be tolerated, and that his office "would not stand for bad or inappropriate actions" by his precinct.

Black man was pulled over by a Texas cop without given a reason. The cop then tries to arrest him. After he asks multiple times, cop tells him he's being arrested for "speeding"

Not willing to comply w/ being handcuffed and arrested for speeding, waits for back up

DJ had similar fears when he returned to the McDonald’s outside downtown Indianapolis. The store offered him free food, but he said he couldn’t care less about extra fries or more burgers. The police officer suspected an employee was targeting him because he was a cop, and he wanted justice for his McChicken.

“I just wanted to find out who the person was and they deal with that person in an appropriate way,” he told WTHR.

Both McDonald’s and the sheriff’s office launched full investigations to find the truth. But on Friday, police found that the culprit was not an employee who wanted to mess with law enforcement. Instead, DJ simply forgot that he had already taken a bite out of the McChicken.
The Indianapolis cop isn’t the first to wrongly accuse a fast-food chain of tampering with his meal. In 2016, an 18-year-old Subway employee in Layton, Utah, was arrested on accusations of lacing a police officer’s drink with THC. The employee was reportedly subjected to death threats and harassment online before toxicology results came back negative and cleared the Eagle Scout of any wrongdoing, according to KSL.
