Yup.Of all the recent nationally covered police-related incidents, this one is by far the worst.

I've heard other people say this. Ask them to volunteer to have their airway constricted...... sure, you may be getting enough air to pass a word across your vocal chords, but that doesn't mean it's enough air to keep the lights on for 8 minutes.Predictably, there was one woman on the WTAJ Facebook page that said: "If he could tell him that he couldn't breath (sic), he must have been able to breath a little because he was talking. Just sayin..."Deservedly so. That was bad. Dude with the knee on the neck should be charged with murder. The four cops involved in this incident have already been fired by the MPD, which is a rare moment of swift action.
Cops have hard jobs, and not everything is black and white. There are a lot of dangerous moments and tough decisions. But they had the dude down, regardless what happened before and continued to kneel on his neck even after he was unresponsive.
I called her a boot licker.
The thing that gets me, and it's consistent across these kinds of videos, is the cops giving them orders that they clearly cannot comply with. That way they can put in the write up that the suspect was 'uncooperative' and 'resisting' therefore necessitating the use of force.

I was going to mention the same thing. When they kept saying "just get up and get in the vehicle" when they clearing had him pinned and he couldn't move was ridiculous. The thing that gets me, and it's consistent across these kinds of videos, is the cops giving them orders that they clearly cannot comply with. If you watch a lot of videos of police misconduct, you see that all of the time. Police screaming "Stop resisting!" as they beat the tar out of someone who is not resisting, or screaming "Hands behind your back!" when they are pinning the person's arms down with their legs such that the person can't move them. And of course "noncompliance" is used as a justification for the escalation of force even though the police themselves are the ones preventing the compliance.

1) These "protests" are filled with people that give 2 shits about George Flloyd and ruin and take away from what the actual protesters are trying to accomplish.
2) People comparing authorities arresting people that are actually destroying property, looting, and causing riots as "BLM protestors being persecuted" to no action of right wing protestors bearing arms yet not causing a riot are completely off base.

Local news had a short segment on the rioting last night. Wasn't sure how looting a Target will help Floyd.

Haha, I saw that and had a similar reaction. Nothing screams racial justice more than looting a Target.Local news had a short segment on the rioting last night. Wasn't sure how looting a Target will help Floyd.

Here's the video. Looks like they did nothing wrong. You can even hear the reporter ask "Where should we move to?"

Thankfully we have the video to know this is a load of bullshit, but totally not surprising they would try to lie about it.

These arrests are even more endemic than the behavior that led to the death. It's staggering how many police officers are under the belief that any failure to immediately follow one of their orders--regardless of the legality of the order--is grounds for arrest. The result is typically an arrest for disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, or other similar manufactured "contempt of cop" charges, and for most people who don't work for CNN, the charges aren't dropped.
Those CNN reporters were not only in a place they had every legal right to be, they were engaged in constitutionally protected activity (i.e. the gathering and coverage of news). The arrest was not only illegal, it was unconstitutional. But MN police obviously don't give a ****. And that's why police earn the hate.
