Something must be going wrong. Try saving as a PNG.

Are you talking about the layered PSD file?

A medium png comes in a 5.5mb.
tif - No. I'm starting with the full size jpg and scaling down to a 900x600 jpg. It makes no sense at all.

5.5mb makes no sense for an image that size.
Are there compression options that you can play with when saving as a gif?

Would going back to the layered file and creating a new flat output image from that work? (I mean, presuming you have one)

Are you pronouncing gif incorrectly? Because that might be the problem.

None it is makes sent. The original jog for the cover at 2400x3600 is only 6.79mb. How can it only drop to 5mb at 600x900?
I'd tried changing the quality (compression) from 2 to 10 and the difference in file size is negligible.

Okay, I'm not going to teach the photographer about Photoshop ( ), but I think the issue might be pixel/inch, not resolution or image dimensions. Try lowering that slider.

Rumspringa feverWhat’s the term for “jungle fever” but with Ohio Amish?I don't know about this, the Ohio Amish made some of the best mattresses I've ever had the pleasure to sleep on.Amish furniture is one of the biggest scams out there, and I say that living within 20 minutes of a half dozen places like that. Just look for the "Made in China" label.

Lower your resolution and save it again. I’d try 50. If you want me to mess around with it, PM me.

Res at 50 and quality at 8 still gives me a 4.9 mb file. I'll pm you. I think my photoshop is broken.

Okay boss, I got nothing further for you. If outputting a whole new file and adjusting the pixel density doesn't help, I have no additional suggestions. You get zero points. Good day.

Use Photoshop's Save for Web option, which will do a better job at file size reduction. Why they have not integrated some of that technology into their normal Save As function is beyond me.What did you need to do?The issue has been resolved.
