If it's something I use a lot I would. If it's easily replaced I'd say **** it. I also don't know how much of a pain in the ass it is to move your stove. Most can just be unplugged and pulled out. Just watch for the gas line.

It takes literally 10 seconds to pull your oven out...

You can't use like a mini-stick or anything to fish it out of there...?

It's probably that weird wooden spoon, but oddly shaped with a hole in it...it looks like a European road sign...but no one on earth could possibly know what it's called or what it's used for (tif is spinning around in a phone booth right now)...it's probably that.

Seems like a lot of work...It takes literally 10 seconds to pull your oven out...
Nope. Unfortunately the only options I can see at this point are either let it be and get it when the oven is replaced years down the road, or take the 10 seconds to pull the oven out. It's a difficult decision. You can't use like a mini-stick or anything to fish it out of there...?

When our cats whack toys under the oven, I just use an old metal clothes hanger that I unwind to get it out. Ask to borrow the one mikey should have eaten.

You literally just pull the oven. It's on wheels.

The only dodint can be the anti-tip guide when you push the oven back in. Though it should only matter if yours isn't properly secured to the floor... in which case, use this as an opportunity to correct that.

We have one of those stupid utensil carousels that is stuffed with an insane amount of Crate & Barrel/Pampered Chef bullshit. I was fumbling around for a wooden spoon when a bunch of **** came out and something slipped down the crack. No clue what it was. Could be any number of useless contraptions.Didn't even catch this. How is it an unknown item?
*edit*
Important update, I put some duct tape on the end of an extendable back scratcher, pulled the oven out half way, and was able to stick the utensil and pull it up. It was a plastic fork sort of thing that I don't think we've ever used. Thank you for your help.

Nothing that a lazy man's ingenuity can't solve. By the way, definitely don't have an "anti-tip guide."Before:

Be careful (read: don't) placing anything on the inside of the lid when open, then.

One is supposed to install the anti tip device but a lot don't. Alton isn't using a real oven in most episodes. I believe they switched to a studio kitchen with a fake oven at some point.

I've always placed stuff on the stove. It never occurred to me to use the open lid. Good thing I guess.

I've never done it because I don't want a cat randomly jumping onto the hot oven door.

I've never done it because I assumed that **** would break off pretty easily. I was surprised to how often Alton Brown does it considering he's a stickler for good kitchen practices

I'm surprised I don't know this. Is the oven he uses on the show mounted into the cabinets?I've never done it because I assumed that **** would break off pretty easily. I was surprised to how often Alton Brown does it considering he's a stickler for good kitchen practices
