It probably can’t be understated the impact of Kang returning to his 2016 self.

That adds a much needed middle of the order bat, pushes bell down to the six or seven spot and turns one of the biggest weaknesses of the roster into a strength.

there has not been a lot of action ITT

is that due to

apathy

the fact that the roster is more or less set

there hasn't been enough bad/inept/idiotic things done by players and/or management at this point

roster is set, no one cares about the first week of spring training, apathy.. all of the above. we'll have some action when the Phils DFA Sean Rod and we claim him though

Unfortunately Brault was a disaster this afternoon. I was encouraged, and thought if he might be able to beat out Kingmam for the 5th starter role.

Sending Steve Brault out to face this Yankees lineup is just an argument for relegation.

the whole "brault changed his delivery and will stop being so wild" thing is classic spring training fodder

i love hearing the spring training adjustments.

worked on his delivery
new approach at the plate

added "insert pitch here"

Evidently, the cheapest tickets for LECOM Field in Bradenton to see the Pirates and the visitor's watered-down travel roster is $21 a seat? Yikes...

I always like the "rebuilt his swing" and "changed his delivery" posts because these guys didn't just start over after 15+ years of doing it the same way.

Kingham is getting shelled today.

And herein lies the risk of the Pirates model. It should not hurt a team to let Mercer and Harrison walk and dumping Nova. In these moves, they have dumped their two worst starters from 2018 and their worst starting pitcher. But yet, they have for sure downgraded at SS and possibly downgraded at 2B and SP. Cutting, or letting go of dead weight is advised, but there is another piece to the puzzle.

Not a very encouraging start from Keller today.
