Why hasn't Lariano started this season? I remember there being talk of the possibility of him starting when he was signed?

I would think that would be the coaching staff's decision but oh well.

That Holmes has a viscous curve ball. Made Braun look like the chump he is.

Yeah, that's what I thought as well. But Hurdle agreed with it and Liriano said he's fine pitching second-ninth, just not starting. It's a mindset thing.

He’s also not a fan of coming in mid-inning, but will do it when asked.

Moran still has a good chance to reach allstar offensive abilities. He's got the pedigree the stature and the youth and has shown the ability. He may prove to be an asset. Funny how third looks like a strength at the moment... despite apparently he had a bad error

- What are the odds of Brault playing the role of stopper today? Less than zero?
- It's a very small sample size, but Dickerson is batting .163 over 57 plate appearances at AAA and MLB this season. The fact that it's almost mid-June and he's sucked at both levels is concerning because they're going to give him every opportunity to get back in the groove and it's going to come at the expense of someone who has played well this season.
- Bell is batting 217/296/435/731 in June with some very ugly at-bats. He might be swinging for the fences a bit too much.
- Finally, from the world of "he is who we thought he was", since he 12 strikeout performance in mid-May Lyles has made 4 starts, gone 18.2 innings, 7.71 ERA, 291/356/506/862 split against, and a 1.66 WHIP. This team is down to two starters who can maybe make it past the fifth inning.

I’m glad I don’t have cable, I don’t know how anyone can stomach having to watch the pirates starters’ need 80 pitches to get through 3 innings.

It also can’t get any satisfaction from kingham getting cut now, that just meant feliz is recalled.

Frazier
Reynolds
Marte
Bell
Moran
Polanco
Kang
Diaz

I gotta give some credit to Hurdle for keeping Reynolds in the lineup. Also, Kang at SS is unexpected.

I have a 20 game plan. Ive gone to at least 3 (possibly 4) rain delayed games including this week’s game that was delayed for two hours even though it rained for about 7 minutes total. I was also at that game that took 4 hours to play nine innings and 5 hours and 23 minutes to play the full game. I was also at the michael Feliz opener debacle.

Long story short, i am not getting my money’s worth. And going forward, i dont plan on getting my moneys worth anytime until maybe september

He was going to inevitably hit a slump.

It's more problematic that Polanco has gone MIA again.

But really, the ebbs and flows of the batters doesn't mean a damn thing with the state of the rotation and bullpen.

Is Polanco disappearing that big of a surprise anymore? That's been the entirety of his career.
