Tolling his contract means Shazier will be paid a salary commensurate with his years of service in the NFL, he will continue to accrue seasons toward his NFL players’ pension, and his medical insurance plan will be the same coverage that all active NFL players receive.

It is odd that they got rid of AB even after he torpedoed his value, but keep Shazier after he torpedoed himself...

Schedule is not out yet and the order of things influences prediction, and needless to say, the draft and potential FA signings impact this as well, though perhaps not as much as we'd like given their losses and the cap situation.

Let's be optimistic, and start off with 3-0 at home vs. the North. Plug in wins against MIA and BUF, and say they go 1-2 against LAR, SEA, and IND. That would be 6-2 at home.

Let's say they go 2-1 on the road against the North. Trips out west to ARI, SD, and SF, and while ARI and SF are bad, its hard for me to look at Tomlin's west coast performances and feel like they can do better than 1-2. How the NFL slots these three games out west -- e.g., ideally one coming off a bye -- is probably the biggest ordering variable. That leaves trips to NE (haha) and one to NYJ. 1-1 there.

That gets me to ten wins. Would not wager a dime on that happening at the moment.

Who were the teams involved in the AB sweeps? SF, BUF, OAK, ARI, DEN........ between them, they have how many playoff wins over the last three seasons?

If all he's out for is $$$, well done?

Given how massive some of these contracts are, I'd very much prefer to stick to the draft. If we land some help through FA at a decent rate, good.

Steelers OLB Bud Dupree hasn't discussed a new contract with the team and hasn't heard of any changes with his $9.2 million option, which becomes guaranteed Wednesday. He'll lock into that number barring new development.
