This could be beneficial in that it shows that he can work with the front office and is worth a #1 pick

Peter King:
“I think the more Antonio Brown tweets, the more he scares off potential suitors. (That’s not just something I think. In the case of one team, it’s something I know.)”
Schefter:
Antonio Brown met today with Art Rooney, per source. Then Brown’s agent Drew Rosenhaus joined the meeting, as did Steelers’ GM Kevin Colbert and exec Omar Kahn. Meeting was cordial and “everyone agreed the trade will be for the best,” per source.
Breer:
Per source, during the summit between Steelers owner Art Rooney and WR Antonio Brown, the team agreed to begin work on a trade. But Brown and his camp do not have permission to speak with other teams.

How long until “source” (read: someone from the Steelers this time, as opposed to the Brown camp sources above) provides info to contradict these reports?

I would hope this is where they told him, that if they want to end this amicably, he wraps it up so they can get him a "good" situation.

Jesus. This quote is about as Peter King as it gets.

THIS IS NOT JUST A THING I THINK. IT IS A THING I KNOW. IN ONE INSTANCE. OR PERHAPS MORE? A LOT OF THINGS ARE YET TO BE KNOWN. BUT IT'S MORE THAN A THOUGHT.

Not going to tag Bell.

Won't give a discount on Brown. If they can't get a satisfactory trade, they'll cross the bridge then.

I don't see the downside to Transition Tagging Bell. But, since they can't draft for **** either maybe they don't care about picks.

I wonder if some of the reluctance on tagging LevBell is they don't want the franchise to become known as hostile to players in a way that might make free agents shy away.

The rumor I've been hearing all morning is AB to Green Bay. They have two 1st round picks this year, and their own aging superstar QB, and the destination is largely impossible to attract players who have the voluntary ability to decline moving to American Thunder Bay.

My guess is that they simply don't want to deal with the drama surrounding tagging Bell again - especially after the current nonsense with AB. Speaking of, I don't want a god damn first round pick for him. I want a starter of high caliber, because this team is in win-now mode.

Oh it wouldn't be just the pick, a starter (preferably a second- or third-level defender) would have to be included. What makes GB attractive in this scenario is that nearly everyone else has been capping the value of any pick that would come PGH's way at a second rounder. So if they can get a defensive starter and a 1st rounder, that would be pretty sweet.

While I have no doubt that some team(s) will offer him a deal on the level of what Gurley got in terms of guaranteed money, he has already left $14.5 million on the table, which I believe is more than any RB actually earned last year. So to make it worth his while (considering that was 'guaranteed' money, too) whoever he signs with will have to overpay him by that sum over the length of the contract to offset that loss.

He seems to think his market value is $20+ million per season, which is patently absurd.

Troy is my favorite Steeler from that era. Ridiculous talented and a great person from everything I've heard.

Same, with Ward coming in a close second. I miss those days.
