I haven't watch this show in a long time but have a co-worker who dodints to me about it every Monday. A comment I saw elsewhere that sums up my opinion on the entire show is: "There are two interesting zombie stories: 1) the story of the fall of humanity/civilization, and 2) humanity’s struggle to come back from the brink. TWD has been focused on the first one for its entire run."

Kirkman said that when the comics took off - there would be no "cure" or struggle to find out what started the virus etc. Although I love the comics, and watched the show through the seventh season, that was a big turnoff. I do plan on watching the show again, once this current run is finished. I can't be arsed to watch it piecemeal.

Rick Grimes three movie trilogy begins shooting next year.
https://www.cnet.com/news/the-walking-d ... -spin-off/
If only they had a show where they already had solid source material, they'd do great. Oh wait.

The apparent rumor was that Andrew Lincoln was tired of the 7-month schedule for filming. They should have ended the show last year, or just killed rick. OR just reduced his schedule to keep the main character of the show driving decisions, etc. I don't know, just dumb.

I do think they're making comic rick into Aaron by removing his hand, etc.

I got the impression from Talking Dead last night that he was supposed to be written off in the S8 finale but he (Lincoln) concluded that Rick Grimes story wasn't done yet.

Oh, and another time jump!

I wasn't expecting a time jump in the middle of the season. The show badly needed a soft reboot, so we'll see how it goes.
I'm out for good though, if I see Judith doing ninja **** with Michonne's sword. (nah, I'll probably still watch)

Ok the girl who plays Judith now is WAY better at acting than Carl at any age. I'd be ok if they take any story that would have been used for Carl and do it for her -- granted I don't know what's happening with comic book Carl.

Just a hint as a cliff hanger. Don't really know anything about it yet other than it looked like zombies were talking.

I’m finally caught up. I was actually digging the time jump. It felt like it rejuvenated the show and I was interested for the first time in a long time. Then the **** zombies talked. I’m out again.

Aren't the talking zombies the whisperers? I don't know because I jumped ship, but I thought I read that elsewhere.

They're the new antagonist group. Sick characters in the comics.

It’s starting to be clear that they’re dragging out any progress on the wisperers. So what are they? I don’t want to wait several months to find out.

A crazy group of survivors who wear zombie skin as camo and move about the world freely/protecting their territory.

I’m liking the direction they are taking the show but it’s very apparent they are taking material meant for Rick and Carl and replacing it with less established characters.

Like Aaron looks like Rick now, missing hand and all. He even has a daughter.

I finally caught up over the weekend and watched the episodes after Rick was gone. Thought I would hate it. Turns out I think it has been pretty damn good IMO.
