I just read spoilers from the finale. That’s not a finale at all. And the spin-offs sound dumb as hell. TWD is the only show I’ve ever quit after devoting so much time to it. I don’t regret it.

I watched it.
It was bad. The attempts at closure were dumb, but of course there are 3 upcoming spin-offs, all look dumb. The one with Rick would at least close some holes, but like, who cares at this point. Judith was a dud character so don’t care if she gets her parents back.
And lol at the “death” in the episode.
And you have to have brain damage if you want more Maggie and negan scenes. Just the same convo at least a dozen times.
“Maggie, I’m good now”
“You smashed glens face with a baseball bat”
“Will you ever forgive me”
“No”

I recorded Season 11 over the past year on FUBO and started watching season 11 last night after I finished HOTD. I forgot who half the characters were because it's been so long. I also found that the opening of season 11 when Maggie and the group go looking for food at the old army base loaded with walkers, I was rooting for them all to get eaten and season 11 to be over. But due to 100% accuracy of long range arrows, sling shots and knife throwing, they got out.
Another 23 to go and then I'm done.

Up to episode 17 of the season. They are fighting against the Commonwealth and that Lance guy has gone rogue and trying to eliminate the other establishments.
It hasn't been too bad, but also not the best. Just 7 more until I can wrap this up.

Finished TWD last night. Like you guys said, it wasn't a finale, just a set up for 3 spin off shows starting in 2023, none of which I will be watching.
11 seasons was enough, I don't need to watch the same characters stories continue through 3 different shows.

I think the Rick one was an aborted movie, so guessing it would more of a mini-series. I would at least watch that one as it is more of a coherent resolution to the series.Finished TWD last night. Not interested in Daryl's easy rider series or Negan and Maggie's odd couple
I think the first two parts of seasons 11 were fine. The battle with the special forces group was good and the Lance colonization stuff was good. But making Pamela Milton the final boss was stupid and doing a final zombie fight scene via a montage so you could spend twenty minutes on two character deaths that no one should care about? blah

But just like this show and any show, I don't need another few years dragging out characters after we've already had 11/12 years of story telling about them. Eventually the old saying of "too much is no good" rears it's head.
If the Rick one does turn out to be a mini series of like 6-10 episodes, I'll give it a watch. But if they plan on it being a regular series like the other ones, no thanks.

The Rick series was originally announced as a trilogy, then a movie, then a mini-series. Right now, AMC is saying it will "begin" with a 6 episode season. Which to me says it won't have a true conclusion and will be just open-ended enough to continue if AMC sees dollar signs.

Lol.“Daryl must escort a young girl who might be humanity’s savior across a treacherous zombie-filled landscape in France.”
Which is also the plot of HBO’s The Last of Us, something that led to the EW headline “Are Daryl Dixon and The Last of Us the Same Show?” Says executive producer Greg Nicotero, “I remember watching the first episode of The Last of Us and going, ‘Ummm… guys? … [But] we were already deep into production when The Last of Us came out.”
Of course, the hugely successful The Last of Us game came out in 2013, and it’s tough to imagine a team of creatives working on a zombie TV show over so many years were entirely unaware of its storyline, but OK — there are probably a limited number of truly great post-apocalyptic zombie story tropes and, after nearly 200 episodes, the Walking Dead team might have literally used up all the other ones.

The Ones Who Lived is getting great reviews. It premieres tonight. I guess I’ll set the DVR. Son of a dodint.

Well I made it to the first commercial break before I stopped it, deleted it from the DVR, and cancelled the series recording. It looks like I’m in the minority, but I just couldn’t do it.
