Former Pirates broadcaster Tim Neverett is headed to the Dodgers to act as backup to Charley Steiner, who wants to cut back on his travel for the next few years. Evidently, Neverett and the radio station in Boston didn't see eye to eye, and told him to start looking for a job back in June.

I read an article on that WEEI situation and the radio place sounds terrible.

Some writer at bucsdugout is saying that the Pirates are the frontrunners for Tulowitzi.
Is there any reason to believe that this guy, Jason Rollison, has real sources?
On a side note, I saw Jonathon Mayo at the grocery store last night. If I were somehow able to run into him town again, I would like to ask him which writers/bloggers have a clue about the Pirates, and which are can be ignored.

If I am remembering correctly, I believe Rollison was one of the first guys reporting the Archer trade.

Interesting...he's definitely past his prime but still is better than anyone else not named Machado on the market.

Tulo is a low risk, high reward signing. DL was always low risk, low reward.

I fear that they really don't have any good options at SS at the moment. I imagine that is the driving force of their pursuit.

That is good. Bannister is back as Special Assistant as well. Same with David Eckstein

TIL Bannister had one career MLB at-bat, an infield single hit to Jeff Blauser.

Bannister's a good guy...but two AL West titles, and then a 78 win season, then the wheels fell off last season...and he was fired? That's a little odd, no?
