I know a lot of you have been to games in DC before. I'm going there to see my lifelong idol Phil Collins.

- Right across from the arena on 6th Street is Daikaya-Ramen/ Izakaya, which is delicious. The first floor is Daikaya-Ramen, a quick eat ramen shop. The second floor is Izakaya, a sit down Japanese restaurant.

- Three blocks down from the arena are two of Jose Andres' moderately priced restaurants. Jaleo is a Spanish restaurant and is fine. Oyamel Cocina Mexicana is, obviously, a Mexican restaurant and is pretty damn delicious. Would recommend over Jaleo. A block down and west from the arena is minibar by Jose Andres, which is his two Michelin Star winning restaurant.

Jaleo keeps showing up on my searches.

We are going Friday and will do the zoo and maybe Holocaust museum that day. This will end up being the main bar day day.

Saturday we are hoping for a White House tour (I won't find out until a few weeks out) and will do a few museums that day.

Sunday morning is pretty cool, we're doing the Army 10 Miler race starting at the Pentagon, going through Arlington, looping around the mall, and finishing back at the Pentagon.

Then that night seeing Phil.

+1 on the recco for the Jose Andres restaurants. The last time I was in DC, I ate at two different Jaleo locations on the same day, so there's that. Also a couple blocks further away is another Andres restaurant called Zaytinya, which specializes in eastern Mediterranean fare

I know it's not fancy schmancy, but I love Ella's Woodfired Pizza.

Also, they have Shake Shack there. Just sayin'.

FYI - the White House tour sucks butt.

Also note that while minibar would be totally amazing, you will need to take out a second mortgage to pay for it. (Seriously, count on two hundo per, before drinks, and budget three hours for the meal)

Let me reclarify my Jaleo comment by elaborating. Everything we ate there was fantastic, up until the paella which was merely good. If I was to go back (I would definitely go back) I would stick with the small plates.

Oyamel has a great menu, incredible ceviche and aquachile, and fantastic tacos. Damn good drinks as well.

I hit up Pizzeria Paradiso the last time I was there and I remember it being pretty good. Wood fired pizza, decent beer selection.

Google shows it being a two mile walk, but if you hop the red line it's only involves about .3 mi of walking and maybe 8 min of travel.

Fado, about 2 blocks from the arena.

If you're willing to travel a bit Meridian Pint in Columbia Heights is the best bar in DC

Good food: Jaleo (frankly, most of the food places are decent, you just need to watch the prices)

Good food and beer selection: Penn Commons or ChopHouse & Brewery.

I give City Tap House two thumbs down while also giving them two birds... **** that place and their management!

Fado, about 2 blocks from the arena.
When I went to the Sounders match at DC with the Emerald City Supporters, we had brunch here followed by a march to the metro/RFK.

I stopped drinking in 2014 and the only guaranteed good time I know of is in Old Town Alexandria, called Bugsy's and owned by an ex-Pen.
