Hello nerds! Welcome to the 2018-2019 college football season, where we watch too much football, argue pointlessly, and in the end, Alabama wins.

Let's take a spin around the marquee matchups of week 1, plus those relevant to 5AF's college football fans:

Alabama v. Louisville in Orlando -- Lamar Jackson is gone, which is probably for the best, as they almost got him killed last year and they didn't have to play Bama. Alabama 38 Lville 18

Michigan at Notre Dame -- Brian Kelly remains the worst human in CFB, which is saying something. Jim Harbaugh remains amusing to me, mainly because he pisses off the right people. Michigan with the slight upset, 27-24.

Auburn v. Washington in Atlanta -- Jake Browning returns, but in Atlanta in what amounts to a road game cross-country? Auburn 42-34.

LSU v. Miami in Dallas -- This game fascinates me and no one has any idea what will happen. Mark Richt is miles superior to Coach O, so in a week 1 game, gimme Miami, 27-16.

VaTech at FSU, Labor Day: Womp womp wooooooooooomp:
Mike McDaniel

@MikeMcDanielCFB

Virginia Tech starting QB Josh Jackson has been suspended indefinitely pending an investigation into an academic issue, per sources.
FSU 33 VaTech 20.

Tennessee v. UWV in Charlotte for some reason -- I'll take the dirty hoopies, 41-17.

Albany Great Danes at University of Pittsburgh Super Panthers
-- Pitt 10, Albany 9.

App State at Crappy Valley, Home of Moral Bankruptcy -- App State 409, UPS 0 (yes, again).

Texas State Bobcats at Rutgers -- why

West Virginia and Penn State are both going to be excellent this season. And Pitt will suck again. That will drive Pitt fans insane. It will be a great season.

You got no response last time, so you figured you'd try again? I would say you have to admire the dedication, but no... no you don't.

Love you all. Just trying to spark some energy in here since CFB will be upon us before you know it.

So what are the chances Urban wants to spend more time with his family?
Powell (Ohio) Police Department’s Oct. 26, 2015 report I obtained says: "The victim (Courtney Smith) reports a domestic incident happened last night at her home and that she has been a victim of sustained physical abuse by (Zach Smith)"

Jim Harbaugh is the best, chapter 83930 (sorry, @MR25):
Then he was introduced to the beauty that is the Harbaugh Experience.

How do you explain the Harbaugh Experience? Former Michigan (and current UCLA) quarterback Wilton Speight tells a story to sum it up nicely. Early in his Michigan tenure, Harbaugh pulled Speight aside and told him not to eat chicken, a protein that is considered fairly safe by nutritionists. When Speight asked why, Harbaugh said, "because it's a nervous bird."

"He thinks some type of sickness injected its way into the human population when people began eating white meats instead of beef and pork," Speight says. "And he believes it, 100 percent."

Harbaugh strikes me as someone who is only half-aware at best that he's existing, let alone coaching one of the most recognizable college football programs in the country.

Brett McMurphy
@Brett_McMurphy

Text messages I have obtained, an exclusive interview w/the victim & other information I have learned shows Ohio State coach Urban Meyer knew in 2015 of domestic abuse allegations against a member of his coaching staff despite his denial last week

This damning stuff on Urban https://twitter.com/CFBONFOX/status/1024720873440210945

(Also how stupid does ESPN look now that one of its fired reporters is breaking a huge story on his personal FB page because like idiots they kept tv shouters and not reporters).

Not pitchforks. All I’ll say, after all the **** certain MSU and OSU fans have talked, then all this goes down... it’s damning.

Well he was just placed on leave, so he'll have some time to rest up.
I don't even know where they begin deciding how long he's on forced leave, probably the first half of the first game of the year probably.
